Simply blob-tastic. Only problem is that the textures and models, even in the XB360 and PS3 versions, look a bit un-detailed. Music is FANTASTIC. I want to get the final level's song on CD because of how good it was. Gameplay, while mildly repetitive, is as satisfying as it should be. The environments are constantly spruced up, with levels ranging from soda canneries to FRIGGIN' SPACE. All in all, de Blob 2 is a fantastic would-be classic. (i really don't know why this game didn't get very popular. maybe not enough advertising? whatever.)

Bleeeaugh. This game is BORING. I feel like Sonic 06' would be a bit better than playing this, because it's just BAD. It's rather entertaining how bad it is! But nail'd... It's just boringly bad. First of all, tracks are samey and bland to the point where it gives me a slight headache. You have 4 snore-riffic "areas" to go, being Arizona, The Andres (i think), a forest-y place, and one more that I forgot due to it's sameness. They are all dull, earth-colored blurs as you whiz by unrealistically on your boring-looking bike/atv/who cares. Tracks (there are 12 of them, all samey once again) drag on for way too long, and usually feel like wastes of time. A big flaw glares you in the face in the first seconds of gameplay: Your vehicle has NO acceleration time! At a full stop? BAM! Full speed! First millisecond of race? BAM! Full speed! And it doesn't matter how low your acceleration is on your bike, it's still instant! Gaah, maybe i'm just hammering on that? Maybe turning isn't stiff... oh lul nvm IT IS. Controlling your bike feels like a chore. Next up: Music! SAMEY ROCK BORING REPETITIVE BLUHH. That was over with quickly. Also: DLC! At least it's free. It's just a bunch of parts for your bike/atv/bluuuhgh that aren't really special. Also, you get extra tracks! There's a carnival, which is just wasted potential; a volcano, which is weirdly just as boring as all of the others; and 2 other bland samey tracks. (i'm using "samey" a lot in this review, aren't i?) And as well, it comes with a gamemode I didn't bother playing because at that point I shut off my XBox and wrote this review. Oh, and also: the DLC comes in the form of a 1 time use code! FANTASTIC! (super sarcasm) Overall, if you want a decent racing game, buy ModNation Racers, or Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, or... Heck, anything but this.

Pretty much every aspect of this game is PERFECT. The jumps feel smooth and predictable, the shooting is very mega man-ish (and don't get me started on how awesome boosting yourself up with a machine gun is), and the leveling up system feels very balanced and fair. Only complaint is that sometimes the action of the game is dampened by having 100 enemies who are super easy, instead of 1 or 2 challenging ones. There's no reason NOT to buy this game. IT'S FREE.

Wonderful. Mind you, the gameplay is in no way special. You simply move everyone's favorite 3D shape (a cube, duh!) around by rolling it. Grabbing on stuff causes you to gain "EDGE time" (see what they did there?), which is subtracted from your total time. That's not what makes this game fun. What IS making this game fun are the levels. The levels usually have a gimmick, like "black hole", where you can enter a wormhole which moves you to a corresponding wormhole, and "robot sport" where, for a brief moment, you fight your rival in a giant robot suit. Absolute genius. There's even a level designed by a kid named Zias (named Zias), and even that was pretty awesome. The music is fantastic, with strong 8-bit roots and a bit of techno vibe thrown in. Also, the music doesn't restart when you die, making sure you aren't listening to the same "BEEP BOOP BOP" every 5 seconds. So, that's gameplay: good, levels: awesome, and music: great. I feel like that clears all criteria, so I'll just end this here. I recommend this game to most, and I didn't regret buying it. Don't mind that the metascore is in the yellow, that's just today's rating system talking. I bid you fair-well! -Coffeehaus
