Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that are heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games , and I use to play multiplayer games back when I was in high school but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox, PlayStation and a Switch. I prefer PlayStation due to their focus on narrative games and my long history of trophy collecting. For scoring, I’ll be using the GameInformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions. (8) Very Good. Innovative, but perhaps not the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so.
Driving Physics
I think this is the area that is most improved to past games in the series. The driving is a lot of fun. It's not a sim for all you hardcore racers out there. They have added tire wear, and fuel consumption to add some strategy. Multiplayer
Is another area that they improved on and is probably the best part of the new Forza game. It's a lot more competitive and with their new ranking system you will be able to race people that are in line with how you race. It's less common to run into rammers if you're a clean driver.
AI Is weird and is currently bad. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed. The main issue is that 80% of the field are bad drivers that will run off course, ram you, ram themselves, perform random brake checks on straightaways. While most of the field wrecks it's self the top 3-5 will break away and are usually pretty good and fun to race with once you avoid the rest of the field.
Progression/Career
This area needs the most work. I like how they are trying trying to add progression to make it feel like your building yourself up instead of buying your way in but making each car have it's own progression is pretty annoying when there are over 500 vehicles in the game. I would have added a sponsorship program in the career. Pick a manufacturer that your going to support for each of the event series and you progress all the cars for that manufacturer that you drive for. It would be more like real life in how drivers progress in motorsports around the world.

This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so. This is definitely more of an arcade then a sim racing game. I really like how they implemented a story to the game. I wish more racing games would try this. The story has one major flaw though, it doesn't make sense when you're good at the game and constantly win races because it'll act like you're always mid pack until the very end of the story. You'll never be better than your teammate even though you've been caring the team the entire time. Career mode is more like a challenge mode/checklist mode so hopefully they'll add to that in future games. Vehicles physics feels pretty good just wish there was more controller feedback to get a better feeling of your care getting loose or going over bumps. Overall, I think it's pretty good and an improvement from past Grid games that I've tried in the past.

Just shy of gaming nirvana, this score is a high recommendation because the game reviewed is head-and-shoulders above its competition. It's a short and sweet game. I really like the art direction and theme of the game. It's sorta like Bloodborne and Dark Souls where you slowly unlock more of the map and find short cuts after clearing an area of enemies. Enemies reset after dying and you collect souls/points to upgrade your character. The combat feels nice, flows well and a bit of a challenge but feels fair. The only thing I can think of that could have made the game feel a bit better would be to change up a few of the combat challenges with additional challenging enemies instead of throwing an abundant amount of enemies at you at one time. Great cheap game to spend some time with.

Although there may be fans of games receiving this score, many will be left yearning for a more rewarding game experience. It's been awhile since I have tried a game like this. I use to enjoy ATV Offroad Fury 1 and 2 on the PlayStation 2 and been randomly thinking about replaying them. I ended up doing some research to see if the series is still going and bought the newest one to give it a shot. There are two things about this game that I really don't like. The first is the physics; no matter what series you pick the vehicles feels very floaty like your not connected to the ground. The second is the controls for how you balance the vehicle weight for jumps; you have to use a bunch more buttons for what use to be shared with your steering joystick. The older way was a lot more simplified and felt more natural then trying to hold onto other buttons while also trying steer. Since both of these issues are the foundation of the game, I didn't want to spend a lot of time with this game. Before I stopped playing I did notice some good things though. The free roam environments and all the different tracks are well done. I also like how roots form from where you or the AI drives, although how deep they form from one pass is probably very overdone and drastically changes the track after one lap. I like how the career mode builds up your hub area as you progress and how much variety of racetracks there are in the story where you hardly do the same layout. I didn't experience any bugs (Sep 2023). I could see the potential of this game, they just have to work on the physics.

This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so. Upon writing , I have 50 hours of play time on Steam and 30 hours on Xbox Series X. During my first 20 hours of playing, I was not a happy camper. I was getting annoyed with the constant loading screens, and the constant walking on worlds that had repeated content. For example I kept on seeing the same cave layout, mine layout, animals, and plants. I felt like I've already explored these new planets I was visiting since they didn't seem very different from each other. I ended up not letting myself go to random planets anymore because of that and started to only follow the main mission and side missions and I started liking the game a lot more and wanted to keep going. I ran into a lot more unique stuff staying with the story than I did randomly exploring at the start of the game. The handcrafted story, cities, towns and other parts of the game was a breath of fresh air to me and turned my initial worry about the game around. I think they did a great job at the ship building and the space flight but wish we could travel to other planets manually, I get not being able to enter planets without a loading screen but I was expecting to be able to fly in space more than just specific areas. You pretty much have to fast travel everywhere and it ruins the journey for me. Of course, I wouldn't want to manually go everywhere all the time but here and there I would. I haven't ran into any major bugs and the miner ones I did run into would just be enemies glitching into the ground slightly and the characters not looking at you in conversation. I'm also liking how they require you to do a challenge to be able to unlock a perk because then it let's you see if you actually use the perks that you are trying to unlock and helps you make better decisions. Basically, I'm enjoying the story and side stories but besides how many planets there are, the outpost building, and ship building, this game is on par with the Mass Effect Series that accomplished most of the same things. I don't think this game is a masterpiece but it's worth the time to play.

The Fallout series continues to do a great job with notable companions and NPCs. Just wish they didn't throw camp building and sanctuary missions at you constantly and that the story is arc isn't foreseen from the start. First person shooting has been improved to compared to previous entries of the series, but still could use some work. I also wish there were tough choices to make like previous Fallout games. Now we have a better looking waste land to explore while we wait for the next one.

The game’s features may work, but are nothing that even casual players haven’t seen before. A decent game from beginning to end. It feels like I'm playing the god mode version of Breath of the Wild. They give a bunch of OP abilities at the start of the game that lets you cheese through the game. I would avoid the abilities to get a better experience. I loved the original but this one for some reason is not giving me the same feeling. Not sure why since everything is similar to the original. Maybe it's exactly that, too familiar, a place I feel like I already explored. I'll update the review once I've beat it. Maybe it'll get better.

(-1) Microtransactions There are microtransactions in the game. It's not as invasive as other games but any microtransactions in a game is a bad thing. This game does feel grindy which is probably on purpose to get someone to use microtransactions. They are avoidable though. (-1) Always Online Not everyone in the world has internet and forces some people to miss out on a game that they would otherwise play. Not really a reason for it since it's not known to be a competitive multiplayer game. I enjoyed my time with the game especially after a year passed by and they added more options to the game like AI teammates, option to turn off drones, and hardcore mode which made it more appealing to me. Has an average story but good enough to keep you interested. The best part of the game is just observing outposts and trying to figure out what is the best way to get through it stealthy.

A truly elite title that is nearly perfect in every way. This score is given out rarely and indicates a game that cannot be missed. It's been years since I've played a game that I enjoyed so much that I play it every chance I get. So far I'm 150 hours in and I believe I'm about to beat the game. Occasionally, I did run into a bug that didn't allow me to continue a quest, but I would just load an old save and loose about an hour of progress to fix it and try to be more careful. Usually It was because I would try to attack while one of my characters were in dialogue/ cutscene. This is a turn-based game and I learned to like because it allowed me to strategies more but usually I don't like turn-based games. I'm also not a D&D player and find the dice rolling a little annoying when in the cutscenes trying to get the story to go where you want to, so I scum save. Surprisingly, I didn't have to reload often. I've enjoyed the story and I could see myself replaying this game. I started a co-op campaign and starting to see how different the game can be based on your choices and it's a remarkable accomplishment.
Brings back a type of game that hasn't been around in a long time. Pretty much brought back Twisted Metal but instead it having a dark background it's more of a hero style characters to play as. The game mechanics are smooth and easy to play. It's Free to play which is nice., but lacks any kind of story unless you pay to experience the background of all but one character. One negative thing I experienced was long wait times for matches Felt like I was waiting to pay more then actually playing the game.

Each joystick controls one of the brothers so you have to pay attention to your movements because it feels so awkward controlling two characters at the same time. If you can look pass the annoying controls, maybe you'll enjoy it. I passed on it and youtubed the story.

I just happened to give this game a try and I ended up enjoying this game. It reminded of that middle school video game that you played called, Oregon Trail. You’re hitchhiking to the border and run into random events that you have to make important decisions that may help you or may not help you to get to the border. There are multiple ways to hitchhike to the border and unlike the AAA games your choices have a significant impacts which makes it worth replaying repeatedly and it’s made that way. Whatever you do just make sure to continue playing the game even if you make it to the border. The only reason I’m not giving this game a higher score is because there isn’t much in the way of gameplay, movement is rough around the ages so other than a narrative reason there isn’t much I can go on to recommend this game to someone. This game has a good sound track and voice acting too.

When it first released, I didn’t care for the art style and I assumed the story would be barebones so I stayed away. I eventually got it for free and went to my backlog until I got the whim to play it. There is surprisingly a lot to this game. You’re always running into new gear, tools, weapons so there is a lot of customization to your weapons and appearance. The story very good too. You have two paths that you can take, light, dark, or a little bit of both. Join a clan and slowly take over 6 others along with trying to save the world. Typical foundation to a bunch of games but it’s done well. The story isn’t going to surprise you but the world is just very unique and great to explore. I looks like a bunch of people have skipped this game since I barely see any user reviews for this game. Give it a try, you wont regret it. Wish I played it a lot sooner. Games aren’t as good overall than they use to be.

The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. I was hoping this game would be as good as the original Tales from the Borderland but it’s not. The only thing this game does better than the original is the graphics. I don’t think the cast is as bad as everyone says, I thought they did good playing the character that was written for them. The humor felt force most of the time and over the top but I think the regular Borderland games have the same issue. The story fell flat for me, seemed like there was no direction just random events that pushed the story forward. There are some good parts of the game but nowhere close to the original. The story didn’t make me feel anything other than a few chuckles here and there. Unlike other episodic games, each episode didn’t have a build up to the end, and was more just a mini break to the next episode. Overall, it’s a decent game but nothing rememberable or innovative to the genre. Only play if your bored and just looking for something to keep you occupied.
Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rare for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions. (7) Average. The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. It’s better overall then the last few Need for Speed but not up to par with their golden age of making good racing games. There are still some annoying features for me to go higher than a seven. My first 10 hours I thought the AI was easy but once I got to a performance of 250 and a rep level of 18 the non-story missions seemed to have a wide range of AI. For example, the last three AI cars would fall way behind quick and I would lap them by the end of the race, the 3rd-2nd placed AI cars would be perfect to race with, and the leader would always stay 150-300 yards in front of you even if you had a perfect race and a met requirement vehicle. It was weird to experience since the campaign missions didn’t do that. I also had an issue with tuning. I would set my car to on-road/track setting but I felt like drifting in turns was still required to be quicker. I like racing games that have a more realistic handling model so drifting should not be a thing if you’re setting up a race trim car. I don’t like how upgrading your vehicle is just selecting a higher tear of parts instead of real parts too. The police is a little too hard too. Just a couple of hits and your vehicle is probably toast in heat 3 or higher. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if your car was able to deal out the same damage to their car but they are like five times stronger than you.

Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I play on every platform but prefer PlayStation. The campaign is probably my favorite in the COD series and it's probably thanks to Kevin Spacey. Now the multiplayer is probably the worse of any COD game. I don't like the exosuits and prefer more grounded combat

Treyarch did a good job again with the Call of Duty franchise. The addition of wager mode is a lot of fun. Zombie’s mode is improved from world at war. Graphics took a nose dive though. Might be the best campaign in the Call of Duty franchise. I had fun wasting many hours playing this game with friends. My only issue is how Treyarch can't make a game as good looking as the infinity ward brothers. Graphics seemed drastically worse from the modern warfare series.

The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. I've never tried the original Hot Pursuit so this was a completely new experience to me. The first thing I noticed was the graphics, expected the graphics to be better. Gameplay was fun but the car physics needs some work. I really liked NFS Rivals which pretty much did the same concept but is a newer version of the game. Rivals has better graphics, car physics, and same gameplay. I recommend playing Rivals instead of this remaster that is still out dated and failed to modernize the originally Hot Pursuit. I didn't play the original but it feels like they just ported it to the new consoles without updating the game to take advantage of the newer hardware. Normally I would redact a point for bad business practice for something like that but since I never actually played the original, so I can't do that in good faith. I can still have fun with this game and so can you if you got nothing else to play.

The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. Short stand alone game that was originally planned as Black Flag DLC. It touches on slavery which is nice but I think this topic should be more explored more in a full game in the AC world. its in the AC world but adds nothing to the overall lore of ac. Get this game if you just want more ac content and to continue naval content that Black Flag did very well with but otherwise I would pass especially if you're worn out from Black Flag. There is nothing wrong with the game but there is also nothing to look forward to.

Innovated, but perhaps not in the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguable so. An unique take. Definitely feels like a kids game while playing but has adult stuff within the story. The ending has a cool twist that will have you talking to your other friends that played the game. Reminds me of pokemon snap with a lot more gameplay. Good game to try out if you don't have anything else that you are yearning to play at the moment.

It may be obvious that the game has lots of potential, but it’s most engaging features could be undeniably flawed or not integrated into the experience. An arcade racer that does a lot of great things with one major flaw. The best thing about this game is the art in which all the cars actually look like real hot wheels. It has the real toy look that I found really cool. There are also a lot of different vehicles to choose from and a good variety of tracks with the traditional hot wheeel track add ons. I like how the hot wheels world is all in the basement of the house too which you can customize and see those customizations you made when you continue with the career mode. The major flaw that this game does though is how hard this game is and changing the difficulty does not help you. It's fine for me, although I feel like I have to be perfect in order to win, but for the kids that this game is advertising are struggling to get a podium finish even on easy. My best guess is that it's because the AI don't follow the same physics as you and are set to rubberband mode so they are always able to catch up and feels like they always have boast to repass you ass soon as you pass them. I hope that they'll update this game but with it being a year old now they should have already done it.

The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. I tried the Batman series out for the first time in 2022. I've heard many good things about the series and was looking forward to trying it out. It's been in my back log since I usually don't like superhero games. Usually because of bad writing. I thought the villains were well written with good voice actors but they did a horrible job with Batman and I can't stand the voice actor they picked for him. Batman voice actor made it a struggle for me to keep going. Everyone says the combat is fun but I don't see it but this game is ten years old so maybe it was good for the time. I only recommend if your a hardcore Bat fan wanting something to do but this wont convince people that are not fans to convert.

Tried with randoms, but hard to find someone with a mic or someone that is not a griefer. Game is filled with repetitive gameplay with very little meaningful content. Best part are the raids but there are very few of those.

If you're all right with walking around a mysterious island with a good narrator telling you a story, good graphics, sound, and pretty good music then give it a try. You're only going to lose 1-4 hours of your time. if you like it, listen to the developer commentary too. I did.

While some things work as planned, the majority of this title either malfunctions or it is so dull that the game falls short as a whole. Controls are clunky for a console game. Would of been better if they published this on PC instead of playstation products. The personality tests where the only good thing in regards to gameplay the rest was just completing random stuff for other characters. I think even kids will even have a hard time finding joy in this game.

If there is anything that’s redeeming in a game of this caliber, it’s buried beneath agonizing gameplay and uneven execution in its features or theme. Great concept but they didn't make it console friendly. It's clunky and hard to build your space craft. Play on PC if you're interested, an 8/10. Hard pass for console. It's just a space craft builder but has a lot of depth on how to build one and you try to reach different planets in the solar system.

Makes it fun to learn. I need a story for me to play a fighting game and this one doesn't have one besides playing a character who wants to be the best in fighting. Fighting mechanics are fun to learn and difficult to master but what's the point of mastering the game if there is no given reason for me to care.

Even the controls felt awful. Media Molecule did a good job with the art work but nowhere as fun as Little Big Planet. Media Molecule should have continued with LBP series instead of giving it away to another developer because now we get two disappointing games.

This game revolves you digging into a family’s past, filled with death. Each story of a family member is unique, moving and immersive. Just don’t pass up on the story and please support the game by still buying it.

Just shy of gaming nirvana, this score is a high recommendation because the game reviewed is head-and-shoulders above its competition. This game was in my backlog for a while, didn’t think the rat infested world what be interesting. I was mistaken the story is great. Each chapter felt evenly paced and the world matched the story. There was a lot more gameplay than I was expecting since people called it a glorified walking simulator. I thought they did a good job with coming up with different gaming mechanics that made sense with the characters and world. Lot of games just throw multiple gameplay mechanics into the world so people wouldn’t get bored but they don’t fit into the world. They could work on opening up the levels a bit more. Most of the game there is only one path to take. The cast/voiceovers where great. The story developed nicely and kept you wanting to continue. I look forward to the next game. Oh, and the graphics are amazing which surprised me since it was an indie game.

The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. Need for Speed Payback is a good game but nobody will remember it after playing it. Car mechanics are good enough for an arcade racer but wish they didn’t force you into drifting. Even the racer trim of your cars will force you to drift along the canyons roads to get the most of your car. Racer trim should be trimmed to precision driving, your drift cars should be focused on drifting. Simple concept, right? Why do arcade racing games think that everyone wants to drift? The city and map wasn’t memorable to me. I knew the PS2 most wanted map by heart and the same with rivals. The story can be summed up to the title. It’s just about you getting Payback. Characters are pretty basic in order to not offend anybody. There a few fast and furious like missions that are a nice change/addition to the series but also goes against the core roots of the series so depending on your stance you may like it or hate it. I dislike how you have to rebuy the same car for different trims instead of just being able to tune it a certain way. Overall there are some good things and bad things about this entry into the series depending on what you like in an arcade racer.

Basically unplayable. This game is so insufficient in execution that any value would be derived in extremely small quantities, if at all. Bad Business Practices (-1) Always Online. If you're not connected to a server you can't experience the game in any way. Even the single player content is locked to you if the servers are down. Perfect example of why gamers hate the online requirement. Five years later, this game is unplayable due to bad servers, kicking you back to the main menu every 10 min. If a company is no longer going to support the game, they should be required to provide an update to at least make the single player content accessible offline. This review is based on the current, Sep 23rd 2022, condition of this game on PlayStation. I’ve been going through my backlog and was going to give this game a try for the first time. My first 30 min of trying the game, I got booted to the start menu five times. I first tried the training mode but wouldn’t even let me select any of the tabs. They were either locked for me or I kept on getting a note saying the party leader needs to start this. I wasn’t in a party...just me. I gave up and decided to just start in story mode. Story mode chapter 1.1 says I don’t meet the requirements to start. I’m starting to think, what can I even do in this game. I jump into multiplayer. Finally, something that I can play! I only run into AI lobbies and they are easy. Gets kicked to the start menu. Don’t waste your time with this game in 2022. May have been decent in 2017-2018 but it’s not playable now. At least to newcomers.

(8) Very Good. Innovative, but perhaps not the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so. Who knew exploring a radioactive wasteland can be fun.

Original Review (2) Broken basically unplayable. This game is so insufficient in execution that any value would be derived in extremely small quantities. If at all Unplayable, haven't been able to complete a race without some dramatic spin that shouldn't have happened or without the game crashing. I tried playing it at launch and gave it three months afterwards, same issues. Been thinking about installing it again to see if it's fixed but I'm not. There really isn't a career mode and only has the main series. I'll probably go back to Heat 5. Updated Review (5) Flawed. It may be obvious that the game has lots of potential, but its most engaging features could be undeniably flawed or not integrated into the experience. I can play it now. Point system broken and very little content.
