The DoA series may never have been known for it's depth or "tournament-worthiness." They finally embraced their identity and ran with it as "fighting entertainment," and that's what it is; flashy, glamorous, over-the-top action. Might never show up at EVO or similar tournaments but it's good, stupid fun and there's no crime in that.
