This game is outstanding. One of the best games I've played to date. First off, the visuals and music are so polished and beautiful. I just want every screen of this game as my background (the backgrounds are incredibly detailed and help make the game feel very polished) and I could listen to this music for hours. I mean, each level has it's own death transition! That should give you a taste of how much love the developers put into this game. The dialogue is incredibly charming and tells a story about complicated feelings so elegantly and with so much honesty (I mean, you can feel it through the dialogue). The gameplay is incredibly fluid and its difficulty curve is perfect (However, I am a platformer afficiando, so take that with a grain of salt). I mean, seriously. Just jumping around and dashing in an empty space feels amazing, and there are so many collectibles to find using these amazing controls! You can choose to play on assist mode, or complete the game 100% and have an outstanding time no matter what. This game simply gets everything right: from skippable cutscenes to counters that help see what you missed in a level. The B-sides are just as fun as the main story and there's secrets hiding in every corner. No secret makes you want to use a walkthrough; they are well-hidden, but also well telegraphed with fun little mini-challenges in them. There are so many cool, inventive mechanics to come across while traversing through in this game... and the level design... Oh, the level design! It's absolutely perfect. This game is incredible and a great start if you want to start playing hardcore platformers.

A great puzzle game with a cool time-manipulating mechanic that is used in many creative ways. The way these mechanics also complement the story and their philosophical meanings is brilliant. This painted world is a joy to explore and piece together. The puzzles are simple yet oh-so complex. Brilliant.

I loved the Witness. I activated all 11 lasers and did "the extra challenge" that I won't spoil. The multiple layers to this outstanding puzzle game really gives it the depth it needs. Not only are you thinking logically on how to tackle the masterfully designed puzzles and recalling the many mechanics you use to solve the puzzles, you are also thinking philosophically on the audio tapes and short films the game gives you to chew on. The island is also beautiful, holding many cleverly hidden secrets and complementing the puzzle plates fairly well. There are many biomes to explore and solve puzzles in, and this game definitely has tons of content if you wish to 100% it. An amazing challenge that will truly test the extent of your mind.

This monochromatic title sports a rich atmosphere and gripping action scenes. The gritty depiction of this game fits it perfectly, and the deaths are just gruesome enough to remind you of the unforgiving forest that you find yourself in. The puzzles are fun to solve, and listening to the rain or the clanking of industrial machines really helps me become immersed in the game and curious as to where my bright-eyed friend is heading. An amazing game with outstanding visuals.

This game is a worthy successor to Limbo (and may I say, a superior one) with its stunning visuals, dark, rich atmosphere, ambient music, smart puzzles, incredible attention to detail, its gripping story told without words, its perfect ending, and last but not least, its realistic animation.

N++

Reviewers are really stupid. That's the main thing I've learned from N++. Just kidding. Only about the second part. Although reviewers don't know what an indie game is and only purchase games for multiplayer functionality, N++ is an outstanding game. Really; I can't believe people can be so blind to the world. Multiplayer was an add-on to the main meat of the game, the single player. And don't take that as a bad thing; the co-op and race levels are ingeniously designed, providing a great couch experience. For everyone who is oblivious to how game development works, Metanet Software couldn't afford online. Instead, they spent their money on an awesome techno soundtrack that helps players such as myself groove along to the gripping, tough-as-nails platforming, as well as everything else I will mention here. The controls of N++ are super smooth, and the way you handle N (and the way N handles edges; I mean, wow!) helps the controller disappear, leaving only the player, and the perfect platformer. The many choices of color theme are beautifully constructed, and they paint the many enemies and obstacles extraordinarily. This game is a **** masterpiece, and if you disagree just because there's no online, then you don't deserve this minimalistic but oh so complex work of art.

This game is a simple, fun experience. It introduces many mechanics and new ball types (slow moving balls, super bouncy balls, floaty ones, etc.), keeping gameplay fresh throughout the two gameplay modes. Personally, I really love the goal mode in comparison to target mode, which is meh. The ambient soundtrack is a great, relaxing complement to the game's cute visuals. There's a decent amount of content to explore, and it's definitely worth giving a try.

Super Meat Boy

My favorite game ever made. It has incredibly tight controls, making the brilliant level design challenging but fair. The soundtrack is among the best, with its variety between retro and metal(?) music. People who down vote either have a **** PC, can't handle the difficulty, or don't realize that this game is catered to a certain audience (or get tilted by one thing and give it a bad review). The beautiful and polished art style highlights Meat Boy's smooth animations. The retro and dark world levels also add a nice bit of variety. Just when I'm getting frustrated, I complete a level and feel empowered to continue further. This game hits the perfect balance between difficult and fair. The variety in characters and controls is refreshing. I highly recommend it to those who aren't the kinds of people I described above.
