Bad story, bad characters, but it doesn't matter to me. The gameplay was so great for me. The Nemesis system gave me unbelievable pleasure. It's the kind of gameplay where you start playing, look at the clock, and think: "Oh my God, I've already played for 5 hours!"

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy includes all the common problems of modern open-world games. It has a lifeless world with unengaging NPCs, a simple storyline, and a straightforward (but not bad) combat system without much room for character builds. It also features many mechanics we've already seen in other open-world games, like Assassin's Creed. After playing this game, I realized that the future of open-world games lies in AI. Only AI can make lifeless worlds feel more real and interesting. NPCs need to be much smarter! That said, I must mention that Hogwarts Legacy feels like a winter and autumn game. I started it in autumn and finished it in winter, and as a Harry Potter fan, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the game. To some extent, the game can be called fan service, but it is of such high quality that it's hard to criticize it too harshly. However, it can sometimes be annoying that many scenes from the films are almost repeated frame by frame. In any case, I simply can’t rate it below a 7. Although, it’s possible that Hogwarts Legacy as a game doesn’t fully deserve such high praise.

This War of Mine

This War of Mine left me more disappointed than pleased. Despite attempting to convey the harsh reality of wartime survival, the game feels disposable and superficial. The endings are predictable and boring, providing no real choice or variety of outcomes, which reduces the significance of the decisions made. It's not a bad game, but it is only enjoyable for a single playthrough.

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil 8 ambitiously attempts to blend multiple genres into a single, cohesive gaming experience. For the first 70% of the game, it delivers a near-perfect experience, expertly combining elements of horror, exploration, and puzzle-solving that feel both fresh and engaging. The atmospheric settings, compelling storyline, and well-designed mechanics make these initial sections truly enjoyable. However, the final segments of the game—particularly the last two boss battles and the action-oriented parts—fall short of expectations. These sections become monotonous and feel out of place, detracting from the overall experience that fans of the series have come to love. The shift from suspense and strategy to repetitive action can be jarring and less satisfying, leaving a sense of unfinished potential.Despite these shortcomings, Resident Evil 8 remains a strong entry in the franchise. Its ability to successfully integrate ideas from different genres results in a unique and memorable experience. The majority of the game showcases excellent design, atmosphere, and storytelling, making it a worthwhile experience for both long-time fans and newcomers alike.

Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3 comes remarkably close to being the ideal role-playing game. The game offers immense freedom to create and develop your character exactly as you envision, allowing for a highly personalized gaming experience. Whether you want to explore different classes, make impactful decisions, or build intricate backstories, the game provides the tools to do so. However, there is one aspect that stands out as a minor drawback. The character development system tends to polarize heroes into distinctly positive or negative archetypes, leading to corresponding endings. I was hoping to craft a more nuanced "gray" character—someone like a just and powerful dictator queen who balances strength with fairness. Unfortunately, the game currently limits outcomes to either wholly positive or negative, which can feel restrictive for those seeking more complex character arcs. Despite this limitation, Baldur's Gate 3 excels in many areas, including its rich storytelling, deep gameplay mechanics, and stunning visuals. It stands as a near-perfect example of the role-playing genre, offering countless hours of immersive adventure.

Over the past month, I have tried several survival games such as 60 Seconds! and This War of Mine. In all of these games, something felt missing—an element I admired in Papers, Please but couldn't find elsewhere. However, Beholder perfectly fills that **** Beholder, everything comes together seamlessly. The game offers a wide variety of endings and multiple playthroughs, providing significant replay value. Despite its relatively small size, Beholder offers enough options to play as different main characters, allowing you to shape the story according to your choices. This level of variability and depth made Beholder a standout experience for me, combining the best elements of narrative-driven and survival gameplay.

Good concept, but poor execution. It's a simplified version of This War of Mine with a focus on the story rather than survival elements. However, the story is boring and lacks variation. For example, you can kill the daughter or son, and the characters don't react or say anything at the end. The endings are also dull. I give it a score of 4, only because of its good art style and potential. With a better writer and an additional year of development, this game could become an interesting and diverse story-driven experience like Papers, Please. But as it stands, it's a game you can finish in 2-3 hours, and that's it.
