Feels like the Mario Kart of Roguelikes. This is a nice but fairly short title, that is a good starter game for people who haven't mastered the genre. If you're a Roguelike master, you're going to crush this pretty quickly but it's still worth a play. Smooth movement, nice variety of weapons that have a good assortment of character to them, and enough enemies to keep things interesting. It really shines as a co-op title, with my kids teaming up to blow things away (or getting simultaneously steamrolled by one charge attack,*lol*) and was fun for me in solo mode.

This is a merge of the previous two recent Giana Sisters titles - Twisted Dreams, and Rise of the Owlverlord. It has all the smooth platformer goodness of its parents, plus a lot of usability upgrades to make for a more comfortable play experience. I particularly liked that they now have all the worlds broken out and separated, so even if you get stuck on one level, you can skip over and try another world elsewhere. This game really harkens back to good parts of the old Sonic titles, but is full of modern polish and quality. Give it a run.

You'll scratch your head the whole way through this game thinking "WTF", but it is worth the journey. Although there is gameplay, it is really much more of an artistic experience than a goal-oriented game. It boasts a gesture-based skill system, tons of skill unlocks, intense resource management, a dozen or so unique boss battles (which may not be intense gameplay, but are fascinating regardless), and a great deal of surreal, disturbing, and frequently unclad imagery. The endings (there are many to choose from) seem dissapointing and unfinished compared to the fullness of the rest of the game. Don't expect to feel satisfied when you reach one. But the journey getting there is a strange, twisted, and worthwhile roam. Set aside some time and give it a try if you're in the mood for some contemplative enjoyment. Oh, and be warned that you Will be reverting to earlier save files and/or restarting at some point, so just accept that this is par for the course. Although not rushed, the resource management is brutal, and you'll want to come back and try different things out at times just to see what else could have happened. Good luck!

Diablo-style gameplay with less strategic depth and added Marvel franchise. The experience is pleasant but not amazing. Probably the most frustrating aspects come from the monetization approach, with overpriced unlocks, some amount of nuisance unlocks (inventory space for example), and random exceptionally rare character drops during normal play. If you want to play a specific hero, you will absolutely have to pay for it (and pay a lot, one character can run up to 20$ for just that one), and it is possible to grind for days only to have the exact same character dropped twice in a row. This also means that any hope of playing as a 'collector' (getting one of each) is lost unless you just agree to pay for all of them, which once again ties back to the overpriced individual character unlocks. End result all right base game, but hampered hard by greed.
