We Got This Covered
By season 7, most series begin to lose steam or lose their identity, but The Walking Dead somehow feels as fresh, thrilling, dramatic, and exciting as it did in its early days, if not more so. The showrunners are pushing the envelope the right way, and they can get away with showing us the most disgusting, disturbing things imaginable because after seven years, frankly, they’ve earned it.

All in all, not a great episode, but a savage and a useful one.

Through effective character development, world building, and storytelling, the seventh season of "The Walking Dead" continues to overcome repetitiveness, and is far from mundane.

It was miserable, and tedious, and made me feel bad. Not in an emotionally compelling way, just in a “I could be watching something of value” way.

It's not all too bad, but the majority of this season sets up the threat of the Saviors, which was already (mostly) established beforehand in season 6. Despite its several flaws, season 7 does fix two main characters' arcs and makes them more compelling.

When they first introduced Negan and the Saviors, he was interesting. As time has gone on however, that whole aspect of the show has become nothing but repetitive. Negan does nothing but talk in his irritating way. None of the characters' motivations make any sense or last for more than an episode. Besides a good episode here and there, it's really hard to keep myself watching this at times.

I've followed the series from the very beginning and sat through every episode of this season and I can safely say The walking dead has taken a different turn and direction when compared with it's predecessors, it feels like the protagonist has taken cannon and the main characters demoted to a more supportive position, I believe this shift wasn't for the good and perhaps the writers wanted to explore the effects on the main characters, the effects of tragedy and seeing them under a new form of pressure, situation, and the unknown, with the enemies their own kind but with the dial turned up, it could be interesting but the execution is terrible at best with no words to describe it at worse. The series is ridiculously slow and boring and it never really gains it's momentum, personally myself I have never found myself wanting each episode to end after 15 mins in every time....
