I was so excited for this show but was more than a little disappointed. It seemed written by 2 different people. One scene was magnificent and the next scene with the younger daughter and husband was so stupid. The way those characters were portrayed ruined what could have been GREATNESS. Acting was very good. Enjoyable show if you can look past the ridiculousness of those two characters.

Russell, Pfeiffer & 4K nature are the only reasons to watch this. I wanted to turn it off after the first 10 minutes.

The Madison is wonderful the story is on par of the notebook, it made me feel connected to all the characters, and really brought the phrase escape from New York. I hope the whole family do that. To live and thrive in Montana take a lot of courage and in Stacy grief the land the river fill her with God's grace and better understanding of why her husband love this land. This show needs to be watched two or three times just embrace the story and the scenes around them.

This latest series from Taylor Sheridan stars Michelle Pfeiffer as a rich wife who loses her husband (Kurt Russell). She determines to leave her fancy New York life to discover the place in Montana where he loved to fish. Speaking of, this is a classic fish out of water story in Sheridan’s undeniable style: intense dramatic emotions, sometimes sassy dialogue, respect for hardworking ranchers, and gorgeous cinematography that makes the most of the stunning scenery. Pfeiffer handles the grief and pluck with equal ability and the rest of the cast is fine. Being that it’s Sheridan, most of the characters are two-dimensional and their interactions are often drenched in drama, making an attempt to wring tears from the tragedy. There are also lighthearted moments and the inevitable friendly, unassuming locals. It’s pretty obvious where this is going from the beginning, so it’s about watching the expected urban/rural debate couched with lots of contemplative beauty and interactions on the way there. This series doesn’t showcase the best of Sheridan’s oeuvre, but at least Pfeiffer and the countryside are lovely.

I love the series! Michelle Pheiffer is amazing in her betrayal of a woman mourning the loss of the love of her life. I spend more time crying and laughing but the scenery is amazing and you find yourself mourning along with her. I wish she would have spent time there with her husband though. Another Taylor Sheridan hit although quit different which I like. He is amazing writer

Absolutely ridiculous that two big stars one of course being Kurt Russell get killed off in the first 30 minutes of the first episode. It's obvious that they were cast only to draw an audience to the program. I stopped watching this estrogen engorged show after episode 2.

This is seriously the best series ever made! The chemestry and timing of the entire cast is impeccible. Each member was literally born to play their role in this awe inspiring series. From captivating vibrant imagery to instantly loveable characters, this series is literally impossible to stop watching. Through their laughter and their tears, we experience every heartfelt emotion, love, empathy and grief in doses often overwhelming. You will be a better person after watching this show.

Grief and cultural/socio economic contrasts are engaging topics. Great on subject matter. And we do get a healthy imagistic slice of the latter in the gorgeously filmed outdoor Montana life and the dangerous, grimy "New York" streets. (Interior apartments shot in Fort Worth I read.) However one wonders where the story is? Pfeiffer plays an at times irrational, impulsive manipulative selfish AND clearly super privileged mother (boots full of money and a chauffeur) to two adult daughters. The younger is spoiled, very much a "Karen," and the older, a mature out-spoken mother of her own two daughters. (Props to Beau Garrett who does a great job with this part.) Apros pos of writing? Come on! the joke about the nuns? Been hearing it for decades! B-o-r-i-n-g) Had someone taken time to make up some new jokes or create a subplot or anything more interesting than Michelle Pfeiffer stomping around with tousled hair and being pissy with absolutely everyone, The Madison would have been more engaging. Hate to agree with the male perspective I have heard on this one, but The Madison is very much a chic flick, a rich, blonde chic flick as a vanity vehicle for Michelle Pfeiffer.

Great acting. Great direction. 10/10 Love that you feel the surroundings and the beauty. It's not rushed. Pulls you in for more. Loving it.

Everyone: TS can’t write women TS: hold my beer (and my spinning horse) This is a f**king great show so far. It’s slow and heavy at the beginning. It doesn’t have any guns or macho fun. But there’s a reason he chose to write this one himself instead of Marshals or whatever. Sure the MAGAs will hate it for being soft and woke. And the mainstream will hate it for being slow. And the intellectual elite will hate it for being TS. But this is just good TV with wonderful actors and solid writing.

I thought it was horrible, boring and a chick flick. Subpar for a Taylor Sheridan show

Didn't like at all. Kurt Russell has such a presence when acting. I tuned in because he was on the show. Then, he's killed off. Bringing him in off and on in flashbacks, not good enough. Michelle is a an OK actress but not to carry the series. Kurt would have carried the story much stronger. And, Taylor Sheridan in all his shows casts nothing but blondes as leading ladies. Hitchcock did that also.

A visually stunning masterpiece. Michelle Pfeiffer delivers what may be the finest performance of her career, reminding audiences exactly what true talent looks like in Hollywood. Her portrayal is layered with raw emotion, drawing the viewer completely into each scene. Pfeiffer’s performance is so powerful and authentic that you don’t simply watch the story unfold—you feel every moment of it alongside her.

Just a bunch of annoying characters doing annoying things. Every episode has Michelle Pfeiffer lying in a bathtub, rambling on about more nonsense. That’s pretty much the whole story, plot, and character development.
