A Coming-of-Age Sci-Fi Mix worth watching! I got into Impulse, since I was looking for some content as I actually enjoyed the movie. While the movie was entertaining, and financially a success, the critics shortened the adventure. The series really made all better, what the movie did lack. It has a well-written, though-trough story, characters with heart, a phenomenal visual identity and almost most importantly for this particular piece of media: A great hand-picked cast. I really enjoyed the full stretch and couldn't spot an error in the story, which didn't work for me. The pace is relatively slow. Very unlike the movie and generally, it is about the people, not the ability all the time. Long story short: I say, watch it!

The show starts off intriguing with a cool sci-fi premise. With each passing episode, there's less and less sci-fi and more and more boring teen drama. For several episodes, there's almost no sci-fi stuff anymore, just drama. On top of that, the main character is unlikable. She's entitled and cranky, always getting irritated with everyone. As if the writer's only experience with teens is them getting mad at all the time.

Well written teenage angst for change. Well written teenage story lines too. Impressive show. Looking forward to season 3.
