In a way to describe this but these series were so good and I think it's a fricken masterpiece show that everyone should watch and since i recently watched it, all actors and actresses did an amazing job playing their own role.. especially david corenswet, he did such an amazing job playing jack castello.. that just made me want to really like him so much and I just wish there could be a second season just to see more of him, alongside the whole cast too.. I would have to give these series 10/10.. its a definitely a reccomend.

It looks fabulous but it is utterly ridiculous. A total waste of time and money.

The show as a concept has great potencial, but that is wasted by its poor writing. A lot of scenes feel really unneccesary, mainly the sexual ones - those made me feel like I was watching a bad and cheesy porno, specially because of the way it feels like its creators tried to make its first episodes be unneccesarily about sex. The show tries to be realistic by "reinventing" the truth, but it just feels really forced and fake. Overall it gets better near the end, but it still is far from great.

Great cast, but the plot is so transparent it's embarrassing. What happened to screenwriting - movies have lost all nuance.

Amazing show, critics did not like it because it is a criticism of their own work. Just. Watch. It. Please.

Absolutely loved it. Fantastic performances all around, and a story like this honestly needs to exist. Forget history - a good story doesn't need it.

I thought this was quite terrific. Hooked me from the start and it got better as it went along. Production values high. Looks great, Character development was pretty strong, acting very good, writing quite nuanced. In the middle and second half there are an increasing number of quiet confessional scenes which I found very heartfelt, surprising, emotional and moving. I was teary more than once, and quite heartwarmed. I don’t really understand the lukewarm critical response. Perhaps it’s because I’m a gay man that I liked it so much - very handsome young male cast - but I would recommend this quite unreservedly to almost any viewer. I loved it.

All the money Netflix gave to Ryan Murphy to produce them brand new content was way too much. This was a soporific miniseries that believed that putting emphasis on the staging would be more than enough for the public not to pay attention to their narratives shortcomings.

Utter drivel, I wanted to like this but the way in which every wish was granted without any struggle made it trite and predictable by the end. Really wish I hadn’t wasted my time on this.

Some Movies depict reality, others are for nightmares and some are for Dreams. The Dream of "what if, after the second world war, when America and Hollywood had the chance and power to redefine itself, minorities like black, gay, Asian, female or Jewish would have been able to stand up for themselves" is a tantalizing one. And the fact that obvious to everyone, it's as far from reality as it can possibly be, might be the biggest criticism of an era at its dawn. That this criticism appears on Netflix is even more ironic. I had an amazing time with this show and were blown away by its incredible cast and how it comes together.

Not sure why “professional” critics hate this series so much ... I’m not black, not gay, not ... I’m a 40 year old white male and I think this series is just beautiful. I got very emotional by the end, especially while watching the last season. I think it comes at the right time, it hopefully reminds us that hating others because they are different is wrong, at least to me this is the message written between the lines. The actors are great, the story is beautiful and emotional, love that retro style Hollywood picture. I find it very entertaining and enjoyed watching it a lot.

The talents of Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, and obviously the people they chose to cast never sease to amaze me. This is, simply put, a madterpiece. (PS: Jim Pearsons deserves an Emmy for this role)

Good production, awkward writing. An easy watch for Golden Age fans but its preachy nature can get a bit much at times...
