Mostly though, Extreme Guide to Parenting is not interested in challenging the parenting choices of the families it features. This is pure exhibition, and there's no denying that its appeal is just as strong as that of any other series detailing the strangeness of nontraditional lifestyles.

Such extremes are out there, and the series is riveting in a way, if slightly uncomfortable when contemplating that the kids have been innocently drawn into an entertainment that invariably sets up their parents as objects of curiosity and derision.

Because this is a Bravo reality show, every hour has to end with a manufactured epiphany.

Once again, a reality show that could have been an entertaining diversion is ruined by an over-long running time.
