The new generation of kids who will be introduced to Duckburg through this series may not have the history to appreciate the way these characters have become far more vibrant and relevant, but that isn’t necessary. DuckTales is brisk and playful romp from start to finish with plenty of cheeky details.

The new DuckTales is better than the original show. Funnier, more ambitious. ... Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan were well-cast as the trio, giving the boys a jocky fraternal chemistry. ... Meanwhile, David Tennant is doing longtime Scrooge-voice Alan Young proud.

Really impressive reboot. This new version successfully re-imagines the original. First off this show is very funny and smartly written. For those who preferred the adventure-focused episodes of Ducktales there aren't quite as many in this season. Also, since I'm guessing they're trying to hook kids by making things relatable, there are more nephews/Webby-focused episodes than ones about Scrooge the main characters. Still, the whole thing is so fun, I didn't worry too much. There is an undercurrent of drama and the characters' emotions throughout. Characterization is surprisingly good here. They even make some changes, which surprisingly work, such as Glomgold being funnier and De Spell being more sinister. In fact, I prefer these versions of Webby, Mrs. Beakley, Gizmoduck and his mother to the originals. The only thing I can't agree with is their change to Doofus. They make him a completely different character. Voice cast is really good. No one can truly replace Alan Young, but David Tennant is a suitable replacement. He's very good at crankily reacting to chaos going on about him. The animation is quite fluid in this. However, I'm not a fan of how blocky the character designs are. Despite my nitpicks, everything about this show jives surprisingly well. I'm looking forward to where this show goes next.

Sometimes shows that were a big part of people's childhoods are remade without respect for the original source and without competent people behind it, solely for the purpose of squeezing cash out of feelings of nostalgia. This show is the exact opposite! Even though I admit that the visual of the animation took a little bit of time to grow on me, the stories, the voice actors, everything about this characterization feels right and fresh and wonderful. 10/10 hands down.

Literally every second of this series made me feel great inside. I can't even tell you, every part was zero percent boring. Even the cliche jokes were redone so they were better! This is great for Disney fans and really anyone. I highly recommend it to anyone. Rest in peace, Walter.

DuckTales is a great show, faithful to the rich source material by Carl Barks and Don Rosa. The creators have done their homework and they have modernised successfully the characters. Thankfully, Donald Duck is part of the team this time, like it should have been all along. The animation is beautiful too, while the voice acting is superb. In short, it's a great series for kids and adults

DuckTales 2017 is here after a ton of hype, does it live up to it? Yes.. And no. The art is a fresh combination of both the classic series and the well beloved comic series. Some of the character design, such as the character's blocky heads are questionable. As well as some complete re-designs of other characters. Many of the characters stayed true to their originals, meanwhile others are completely off base. It's really odd that they decided to change some of the core characters so much. The three newphews, Huey, Duey and Luey are almost complete polar oppsites of their original selves. While the first double episode hinted at a more episodic serial version of the franchise (hearlding back to the classic comics), more of the new episodes are simply one offs that simply feel off. I feel as if a more story driven plot for the cartoon would have been better suited for the return of DuckTales. At the end of the day, it's a nice treat to see a classic cartoon reborn, but some of the decisions and changes made to the franchise are seriously questionable. One can only hope that DuckTales 2017 manages to find solid footing (and writing) as it continues to air on TV.
