Seasons 1 - 10 are an absolute joy to behold. Beyond that I have zero interest in being pandered and placated with SJW preachiness.

I am extremely jaded with this television series. I remember vividly watching the first episode in 2005 when it aired with the 9th Doctor, who really set an important quota for other actors to follow. Christopher Eccleston balances the whimsicality of The Doctor who hides his PTSD, but keeps both his trauma and anger in check. And in the episodes you do see his anger get the better of him, it isn't glorified. It emphasizes the importance of keeping anger at bay, and utilizing it to assist whatever situation you find yourself in. David Tennant came afterwards and skyrocketed the show into a grander audience, and is generally loved by all. My only gripe with the 10th Doctor as opposed to the 9th, is that the immortal Timelord should NOT fall in love with a mortal human. It does not fit, it does not make sense, and it bogs down the story. However, one cannot deny Tennant's exceptional acting prowess that he brought to the table. He had more episodes to expand his range and further raised the bar set by Eccleston. Afterwards with the 11th played by Matt Smith, we perhaps get the most approachable Doctor. Almost anyone can find enjoyment in Smith's portray of the character, he carries with him a solemn sadness and heavy burden carried by the other two doctors. Reflected in the Day of the Doctor special as the "man who forgets" line by Billie Piper. Peter Capaldi plays the 12th Doctor and is such a stark contrast to the other 3, many did not take kindly or warmly to his utilization of his character. However, his is perhaps the most remarkable. Unlike the other 3 Doctors, Capaldi is brought into his regeneration with distrust, discontent, and discomfort. And each season he goes through, his rough exterior he built up slowly whittles down into a man who isn't afraid to be vulnerable. This show was so important to a lot of children because not only did it get kids and adults interested in history and scientific theories and science fiction. It utilized The Doctor as a catalyst for what it is to be a good person; the 9th taught us to keep your anger in check and how to be a leader, the 10th taught us to look on the bright side and never give up, the 11th taught to never lose sight of your friends as they make you who you are, and the 12th taught us that being vulnerable does not mean weakness. The 13th Doctor... Just fumbled it, and after the recent reboot the show no longer feels the same. Regardless, the majority of this show balances easy to digest episodes with story lines that drive such importance in what a human character ought to act from a character that isn't human. My final recognition of this would be to emphasize the single appearance of John Hurt's War Doctor from the Day of the Doctor special. Perhaps an overlooked appearance of the character, as you see him carry a man in the midst of the worst possible conflict in the history of time & space. He plays a perfect prelude as to why the other actors portray the characters following the events of the Time War. It makes every monologue by all other Doctors that of paramount importance and gravity, and you see a Doctor clouded by such existential doubt, duty, and depression. All of the actors who play The Doctors are shown to sacrifice themselves time and time again, but they never lose sight of who they are. The War Doctor played by John Hurt is The Doctor who abandons what it is to be The Doctor, and that amount of selflessness haunts him forever. Its such a subtly beautiful depiction seldom seen in the show, and more than likely will never been seen again. This show is good, and important for adults and children. I would say stop when Capaldi regenerates, as Jodie's writers did not do the her or the character justice.

I just started watching and I loved it until the doctor almost kissed another guy. It just changed my whole image of him. Maybe that was a little too fast. Haven't watched any more past seasons 1 E7.

Doctor Who is my favourite TV show. Is it the best? Not at all. But you do have a lot of genuinely good stuff with (almost) every season. Heaven Sent, World Enough And Time/The Doctor Falls, Midnight, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang are just a few episodes among the many that I consider to be either fun or just really, really good. Although there are a lot of campy episodes, I think it fits the show's identity, and they can still turn out to be fun. Other's like Fear Her and Sleep No More are just not good at all.

My personal favorite non-animated comfort TV series of all time. Every incarnation of the Doctor is at least likeable with my personal favorite being Matt Smith's incarnation of the character. The Doctor is flawed, yet relatable and often shows quirky personality traits but can be serious at any given moment. Doctor Who is an epic Sci-Fi adventure filled with action, comedy and high-stakes drama. Ratings for each series below; S1: 9 S2: 8.6 S3: 9.1 S4: 9.2 S5: 9.5 S6: 8.3 S7: 8.9 S8: 8.8 S9: 8.9 S10: 8.7 S11: 6.9 S12: 7.1 S13: 7.4

The first ten seasons of this classic franchise reboot are incredible. Unfortunately, the last few seasons stopped telling entertaining stories and gave up on insight. Instead, later seasons are based on virtue signalling. In these latest episodes, the Doctor helps Rosa Parks make history, or we get a lesson on preferred pronouns. It is a shame that a show that was solid for decades could get destroyed by writers with ill intentions.

I don't know what it was, but something just felt off the entire episode. It was woke at times which is very disappointing but what should we expect when Dr who is owned by Disney now. David and Catherine were amazing as usual and the same with Sylvia, however the rest were just ok or bad actors. The shear amount of easter eggs in this episode was mind blowing but the new TARDIS...looks bad. It just looks extremely cheap and empty. Over all it was decent but it could have been a lot better. It is unlike RTD to be disappointing. Too woke to be scored any higher and it pushes woke, toxic ideologies. The biggest problem thonis the fact that David had little reason to be in this first special and he failed a lot and didn't actually much and all the other characters did was dump on him. 5/10

As someone who has watched every episode of Doctor Who I'm sad to see it suffer the same wokefication as everything else. There's always been something special about the show. I was even exited to see what Jodie Whitaker would do with the role and honestly, had it not for Chris Chibnall then I think that season would have pretty good. But he just had to ruin everything. I think he also ruined her chances of doing the role justice. I'm only hoping that now he's gone they will unwokeify it and go back to what it was. Doctor Who is no place for woke nonsense. Just make a good Sci Fi show and leave it alone.

Dr Who a mixed bag really. Mostly good stories held back by dated effects and low budgets back in the day. New Who I found and the effects were a lot better for sure. Matt Smith was peak New Who as he actually came across like an Alien. The other two previous Doctors didn't have that sense of Alien enough. I dipped out early Capaldi due to the weak writing and I never heard anything good about the Jodie run to pull me back in. I have time locked my Dr Who rewatches at 9th, 10th and 11th. I don't care about the 12th plus and not in to old Who anymore.

The revival era of Doctor Who brings back one of the best and most iconic sci-fi franchises in a refreshing, unique (yet still in keeping with the classics), and incredibly entertaining way. Whether you are a kid or an adult, you can enjoy this bombastic and fantastic piece of television by watching the adventures of the Doctor in the TARDIS, played by various amazing actors. Accompanying the Doctor is their multiple funny, empathetic, and likable companions who usually range anywhere from comedic relief, to romantic partner, to moral compass of the Doctor. Speaking off, there is a little bit of every type of media genre in the 150+ episodes. Horror, action, comedy, romance, mystery, superhero, and any other genre you can think of can be found in this endlessly diverse show. While the concepts and ideas can be wacky and ridiculous, the acting, dialogue, writing, and music are almost always on point. Some unbeatable, must-watch classics include The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways, The Girl in the Fireplace, The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, Human Nature/The Family of Blood, Midnight, The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, Vincent and the Doctor, A Christmas Carol, The Day of the Doctor (my personal favorite), Heaven Sent, World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls, and Twice Upon a Time. Those are only some of the phenomenal episodes within excellently-crafted seasons. I could go on for days why this is such a good show, but I shouldn't so let's talk about the writer eras and seasons before wrapping up. The Russell T. Davies's era is the pinnacle of the show with the best writing, music, acting, and series arcs you could hope for. It successfully revives the show in a very exciting way and overall deserves a 9/10. The Steven Moffat era is a little weaker in terms of writing, as Moffat's stories sometimes have too much in them or too little. That is not every season though, as some have tightly-written, delightfully mysterious series arcs. However, almost every one of his seasons with bad arcs is redeemed by the banger individual episodes. Also, the acting and music are still at the same level of quality as they were in the Russell T. Davies era, so Moffat's time with the show gets a 7/10 from me. Now for the Chris Chibnall era of the show which is just unfortunate. Despite a few good single episodes here and there, the series arcs are either lazily-put-together, uninteresting trash or over-stuffed trash. The writing is basically a self-parody of previous eras, the music is generic, and the acting is nothing special. I have no problem with the people behind the camera and in front of it, because they are doing the best with what they are given, but that only reaches so far. Overall, the Chibnall era had some good ideas that were stomped into dust by the awful execution so I give it a 3/10. Despite my negative words for the current run of the show I have no personal anger towards the people involved, and no matter how bad the show gets, it will never spoil the first ten seasons. I suggest only watching up to Twice Upon a Time, but that opinion might change considering Russell T. Davies is back as show-runner, and he very well could save the show once again. But you are allowed to do what you want. To close this off, here is my ranking of the seasons: (1)Series 4: 10/10 (2)Series 1: 10/10 (3)Series 5: 9/10 (4)Series 3: 8/10 (5)Series 10: 8/10 (6)Series 2: 7/10 (7)Series 6: 7/10 (8)Series 4, the Specials: 7/10 (9)Series 9: 7/10 (10)Series 8: 6/10 (11)Series 7: 5/10 (12)Series 13: 4/10 (13)Series 11: 3/10 (14)Series 12: 2/10.

Overall a really great show, specifically during the Moffat era. The show has kinda gone down hill with the last few seasons. I think the writing is to blame. For example Jodie Whittaker seems like she has the range and acting chops to do the character justice, they just don't write her doctor with a distinct personality from the others. Unfortunately her doctor, feels like the most generic version of the doctor. Again I think she's got the ability to really deliver, but the writing of her lines and character feels like you could fit it in with any doctor and you'd just be like. Yep, sounds like the doctor. Anyhow If you like Sci-fi Doctor Who is an absolute must.

I'd been stuck in understanding doctor who's franchise for so long cause it was so great and fun to see so many good things in this series plus with the great screwdriver that doctor has and uses to make huge explosions when they're needed. the experience that each doctor has with his companions is unique and i doubt the fact that we'll be able to see such people ever again. the overall is that the doctor can be either bad or good but he never forgets that he's the doctor thus he'll always be in our memories. the show though in 2020 has some downfalls and it's not good for us fans because it's important for a fan to know how to connect with the show but nowadays the show is nearly taking the fall cause it has no best writing support or scenery like it used to have before. I hope that there's some kind of solution for this problem and i just hope to see the doctor who series go as up as it used to.

All but the 12th doctor and the writers for the 13trh doctor are good. It's not that I'm against the actor or anything, but The Doctor is supposed to get younger by each regeneration. But excluding that, the 11th doctor was spot on and perfect. Great show, with some great story, will keep you entertained for hours on end.

Chibnall succeeded where Dalek, Cyberman and every villain in the universe failed: he killed the Doctor. This isn't just a bad season to pass over, it's a premeditated murder of the whole series and its legacy. This series is not only bad to watch, but it really hurts.

THIS REVIEW ONLY REFERS TO SEASONS 11+, since Chibnall took over.Chibnall has ruined the show with terrible writing and narrative choices. Jodie deserves better. No wonder the show has lost a third of its loyal fans. The worst showrunner ever. He has destroyed one of my favorite shows.

Since Chibnall joined the show is nothing but a hollow shell, no background story arcs, no effort. He destroyed decades worth of lore in a matter of months. I hope they fire them all and wipe all his season's off the face of the earth forever.

seeing that i've kind of watched multiple episodes of season 12, and now seeing trailers for season 13, it is no longer the charm that we would get out of each season, it was horrible, with a seemingly uninteresting character from the trailers. season 12 was really where i was absolutely bored of the series, it just got boring and didn't have a good storyline anymore.. how did they manage to ruin the doctor who childhood that we used to have?

I grew older with Doctor Who, and I just loved everything until series 11 and 12, honestly it's hard to see how much Doctor Who is scored that bad because of the last two series, but I can understand why, Chibnall's era is the worst, series 11 was just annoying and series 12 was a little better but not enough, plus it has destroyed the Time Lords. The only good point in Chibnall's era is the Master and some soundtracks, the others characters are bad and I am not really linking Jodie's Doctor, she is not the Doctor enough. I really miss Russel T Davies's era which was my favorite, Steven Moffat was great as well, not as much as Russel T Davies but he gave us pretty good storys even after started being the showrunner. That's why I am leaving a 8/10, because I see the whole show and not only the two last series, and to me the show deserves a 10/10 if we forget Chibnall's era.

WOW, how the mighty has fallen. Doctor Who throughout the last 50 years has been evolving, and generally the evolution has been a a positive thing, that is until recently. The last couple of seasons is an absolute dumpster fire, where you get preached at so much, its like an educational propaganda film than entertainment. BBC you have failed the fans. The writing is now garbage, and the lead actress has the charisma of a flat plank. Can you really believe they burned 50 years of historical canon to show signal virtuing? sad day indeed. My advice is that anyone who wants to try Doctor Who, try the old material, that was good... the new stuff is just utter crapola.

Unfortunately this era of the show is like the dark days of Colin Baker era, right down to the garish costume. Glimmers of hope, still creative, but the main actor is struggling to find an identity for the Doctor, the supporting cast are bland and uninteresting (with the exception of Graham) and the dialogue and plots are generally uninspired.

The only thing I hope that hell exists only for those who destroy the universes. Be it books, movies or games. You destroyed the best science fiction series. It was necessary to stop at season 10. Capaldi would be the perfect ending to the series. But you could not. Shame on you.

I'm a huge doctor who fun. It's the only series where I've cried repeatedly. When I feel sad, I watch seasons one through nine. But the last three seasons... it's a personal insult to me. I'm just surprised at how much disrespect and deceit they can muster up to justify all this. re: Series 12. It's either the people working on the show right does not understand or know Doctor Who at all, or they're just mean for the sake of whatever gain they may achieve. I'm just sad that the show that meant to a lot of people doesn't seem to mean so much to the people making it. Or I don't know, maybe they just don't get it, which is also sad because I'd like to think one of my favorite IP (one with a gargantuan legacy at that) are being handled by professionals. But yeah, that's that.
