Desperate Housewives is a brilliantly crafted mystery series with strong romantic and dramatic elements. The storylines are well-written and rarely feel exaggerated or unrealistic. One of the show’s strengths lies in its structure: each season revolves around a central mystery, slowly unfolding over time to keep viewers hooked. However, a slight drawback is that once a season ends, its mystery is rarely referenced again—as if it never happened. Don’t let the title mislead you—Desperate Housewives is much more than a show about “housewives in crisis.” It delivers dark humor, unexpected twists, and emotionally gripping characters. Once you start watching, it’s hard to stop. Highly recommended—you won’t regret it.

'Desperate Housewives' is the worst show on the broadcast networks. ... The show is adrift in silly contrivances (as opposed to inventive situations), painful dialogue and obvious wheel-spinning. The solution to ending or spicing up any boring story line is just to inject some over-the-top melodrama or at the very least, have various characters in floods of tears or running about screeching. Or, failing all that, have Teri Hatcher fall down.
