Legends of Tomorrow flies high as a kite, and the kite was hit by lightning, so now it’s an omnisexual talking kite firing electric rays at sexy history. ... A little self-awareness goes a long way, but Legends has a charm that’s more old-fashioned than meta. Every adventure is a game of dress-up.

LoT delivers yet again. The show continues to differentiate itself from the other Arrowverse titles by trying to just have fun. The writers come up with some creative stuff this season. We even get a new opening credits, which better depicts the show's current madcap tone. Despite the silliness, this season feels more grounded than the last, which was getting too campy. (The second episode of this season has the same issue, but it's smooth sailing from there.) Several of the characters have some emotional moments, especially Constantine (Matt Ryan) who remains the tragic backstory MVP. On the other hand, Nate (Nick Zano) who's been through the emotional ringer the last few seasons gets a refreshing reprieve, and we get to focus on how funny he can be. Unfortunately, the Time Bureau was dropped this season. I'll miss the show having official support. On the plus side, we get to see more of Gary (Adam Tsekhman) and Ava (Jes Macallan), now being able to assist the team full-time. I'm happy to say that new addition Behrad (Shayan Sobhian), Zari's brother, fits in immediately and naturally with the rest of cast, bringing a hippie vibe. As Zari, Tala Ashe gets to deliver a very different performance due to previous events, and the actress shows her versatility by nailing it. Mona (Ramona Young), who wasn't really working last season, is downgraded to a recurring character, which works since she is a lot better in smaller doses. Although Mick (Dominick Purcell) does have his own personal story this season, the show seems to be more and more at a loss when it comes to involving him with the overall action and plot-of-the-week. Also, the story, while well-handled, feels like a repeat of a previous plotline. Overall, fans of the show will still find it hasn't lost a step.

Legends is back on form after a disappointing season 4. This gets close to the heights of seasons 2 and 3. It is not a show meant to be taken seriously, but just lie down and have some fun if you like superheroes and DC. That is all Legends is about, and it is damn good at it.

Pretentious drivel. Not a valid reboot but a boot up the backside of the viewer. The sad thing is it could set back the careers of some of the actors such is the depth of cretinism and insult to the viewer the producers and writers had delved into. It is not that I do not get 'IT', or breaking the 4th wall is wrong. Shakespearean era theatre used to do asides, which involved a character doing a one liner to the audience now and again. This season is demeaning to the viewer. There seems to be this idea in the industry all viewers are fans and all fans will put up with any old sh 1 t! I think this confirms that is their opinion. It saddens me, I did like the first 4 seasons as i do a heavy client facing job which deals with some bad problems and light entertainment is a welcome relief. This is an insult to light entertainment! I am not some moron who wants to essentially have the piss taken out of them by the multimillionaire producers. It is not a brave experiment but;- Sophomoric, pretentious, childish, viewer insulting rubbish! It will no doubt get 9's 10's but it you have a few million, a few thousand is nothing to pay off a few student to write bogus reviews. Get a can of paint throw it against a wall and watch it dry rather than waste time on this.
