Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Visually, Korra is striking. It's full of little tricks and nuances that only true fans will notice and savor, but nothing prevents civilians from enjoying it as well. The same holds for the mythology.

When her Airbender training is postponed, Korra travels to Republic City, where Aang's son Tenzin lives, so he can teach her. And that's when the fun begins.

Mostly, the intrigue in the half-hour pilot proves a trifle head-scratching, but there's a fair amount of action and an impressive look.

If you like simple background entertainment it's fine. But if we look at what it could have and should have been, this is a really big dissapointment. The main problem is Korra. I know she needs to learn and become more wise as the episodes go on, but 12 year old Aang was more wise then this late teenager avatar. She makes so many dumb decisions, and acts like she has never been under pressure. I just can't relate to a character that acts so dumb so many times. A great example is a scene early in the first season where she challenged the uprising leader to a 1v1 duel, even though like 4 scenes before, she was having nightmares about this guy. This just isn't believable writing. Its an ok show but just don't think too much about what is happening, and why it's happening. The animation is of course great but that's pretty much all. The show was ok, but still really dissapointing.

Nowhere near as good as the original series. It was OK at times but I got bored of it a long time before it ended

Breaks its own lore. Continuity issues all over the place. Bending styles loose their individually

The writing was SO bad I felt the story was rushed with many many deus ex machina devices. Example, the last episode of Air - they wrapped up the ending with a cheese quip and then teleported a character to the avatar for a forced feel-good moment - WHAT? Did the producers want to just to tie up the season? I felt more for Hawky than I ever did for any of these lame characters.
