Killzone 2 is by far the best first person shooter on the PlayStation 3, with unprecedented graphics, impressive physics and a multiplayer experience that deserves to be played. Guerrilla Games have created an unforgettable action adventure with varied gameplay, intelligent AI and imposing enemies. You don't want to miss this game.
Naughty Dog have created an amazing movie adventure on the PS3 with unparalleled graphics, fantastic dialogue and amazing platforming elements. There is no need to wait for the film version of this game, as it's already arrived in everyone's living room. Unmissable.
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a fun and thrilling game with lots of surprises. It comes bundled with a remake of Escape from Butcher Bay which is a nice touch, and the newly added multiplayer feature adds more hours to your gaming experience. The dark settings provides tense environments, even though it's a bit rough around the edges, but the sound and voice acting is top notch! Turn up your subwoofers for a Vin Diesel bonanza - this one's a keeper for all scifi action fans.
Red Faction: Guerrilla is a gargantuan and generous RPG/shooter with driving tendencies and tons of diverse missions that can be performed in any pace. The multiplayer is good too, and has diverse weapons, some new backpacks plus more than just the regular game types, including a hotseat mode.
Old fans of the series may not be expecting a game like this, but Fallout 3 is ambitious and more than lives up to the high standard it sets, and will be enjoyed by both newcomers and veteran Fallout players. Bethesda have managed to create a sturdy strategic element to the first person perspecitve but have ultimately failed in creating believable characters, which may disappoint some.
PlayStation 3 players are in for a treat when they descend into Rapture for the first time. The story may be linear, but it's extremely engaging, and the 1950's design is sublime.
Whilst improving on practically everything that wasn't up to par in the original, this sequel is really only marred by it's delayed release schedule in Europe. A must for all music lovers out there.
The pessimist in me never thought that it was possible to make a really good game from a popular license, but Rocksteady have managed to do just that with Batman: Arkham Asylum. The game is second to none in the genre, and beats all contenders with a mighy bat-punch!
Ubisoft haven't just rebooted the Prince of Persia franchise, but they've alse reimagined the Prince and his adventures in a waterpainted praline with a distinct design that's Oh-so-tasty. Perfect platforming an a strategic emphasis on the hand-picked battles make this adventure an absolute must for everyone who loves a good adventure.
