War Machine hits all the right spots for this kind of movie. It’s lean and propulsive. The practical stunts are impressive and immersive. And Ritchson, even playing a man so throttled by his own past that he doesn’t want to feel anything, is a compelling screen presence.

Forget the gritty realism and quippy one-liners that so often define the modern action genre, War Machine is proudly, almost guilelessly old-fashioned.

War Machine is pure popcorn sci-fi chaos—in the best way. The story isn’t super deep, but the explosions, tension, and nonstop action make it a seriously fun watch. If you’re in the mood for a loud, fast sci-fi action ride, this one definitely delivers. GO Watch it!!!

A brainless, bombastic, bomb-tastic action romp, this is absurd on almost every level, and far more fun than it has any right to be.

It doesn't quite have the courage to be the best version of itself. Still, it works. War Machine is an action movie you feel in your body, and it mixes in the right dose of sci-fi VFX without losing sight of the character that keeps you caring.

In a strange way, War Machine kicks off when it proverbially jumps the shark, introducing something so ridiculous as a big killer robot to jolt the movie awake from its ho-hum military recruiting motions. It’s not a movie built to withstand big questions, but for a high-octane action thriller, it’s a lot more fun when it goes off the rails.

Such blunt messaging reduces the onscreen carnage, which relentlessly occurs via this mute machine’s searing lasers, barrage of bombs and kaiju breath, to little more than the human toll required for this particular military man to feel again. Worse yet, the film concludes with hawkish intensity, fashioning itself into a tasteless recruitment video.

One thing about War Machine, you know exactly what you're getting into. It's a billboard for the American Military, even if the bad guy is an alien(?). It's a by-the-book sci-fi/action movie and there's nothing wrong with that. I like Alan Ritchson from Reacher, and he's perfect as the new Arnie or Willis or whoever. He's an action hero that truly looks the part. Is it deep thinky? No. No important questions were answered during the runtime of War Machine. Hell, we know nothing of what it is or why it is (unless they do a sequel, which I'm good with). I got exactly what I expected to get out of this movie - mindless fun on a Sunday afternoon.

May set the record for people screaming "INCOMING" before being blow up. Above average action and effects saddled by pure military propaganda.

If any actor were built to be the ultimate action hero, it’s Alan Ritchson. This has been proven by his tough-ass role as Reacher on Amazon **** hasn’t exactly been an easy route to get there however, as one point he had to show his toughness playing Raphael in two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flicks, before he could flex, without the shell, playing Hawk in the superhero TV series Titans. This role then is his calling, playing a soldier who is tough as he comes, and he needs to be....
