An hour in, this viewer still didn’t know enough about Mr. and Mrs. Winn to care about their fate, although the pleasure of watching Anderson and Isaacs put in terrific performances is not thereby diminished.

A quiet and reflective road movie about loss, homelessness, illness and, above all, mutual support. The Salt Path takes its time, but that calm pace fits the story. Ray and Moth’s relationship is easily its strongest element, showing how much two people can endure when they face it together. A few visual choices and unclear time jumps bothered me, but overall it is a warm, comforting film with beautiful scenery.7/10
