APPALLING: This "comedy" offers no laughs and does not have an ounce of effort.

Film strepitoso! Simpaticissimi i ****, bella la scenografia, da non perdere assolutamente! Di sicuro tante tante risate per tutti!

This is a gay version of the classic spoofs like “Airplane” and “Naked Gun” and was created with RuPaul’s “Drag Race” sensibility (plus a few obvious references to the show). Two train stewardesses (Jujubee and Ginger Minj) are working on the luxurious Glamazonian Express, when a massive storm threatens everyone on board. Keeping with the genre, there’s a cast crammed with B-level stars like Nicole Richie, Jerry O’Connell, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Charo. RuPaul plays the president with a campaign slogan that’s one of the funniest lines in the movie (“She Fun”). Director Adam Shankman, who got his gay cred with “Hairspray,” has kept the energy flowing and done his best to make the silliness work. The cast is also trying hard, but writers Christina Friel and Connor Wright didn’t give them enough to work with. There’s an obvious camp factor that adds a layer of fun, but this is one of those joke-a-minute romps, where more jokes wreck than arrive safely. Interestingly, there were more straight couples in the audience when we went.

**** potential to be goofy, campy **** it is in many moments. However, the generative AI shots, which are obvious at many times during the film, are rather painful to look at. The performances are not amazing, but not terrible either, and the film almost reaches an infectious energy. At its best whenever RuPaul is on screen, and more of that was desperately needed to save a rather generic, messy comedy that stooped to the level of constant AI usage. A shame, but not a total failure.

This is a like a comedic drag queen version of Speed on rails. The humor was sometimes honestly hilarious, but sometimes devolved into unfunny nonsequitors like you are watching an episode of Family Guy. If you are into this sort of camp heavy humor, it's probably a delight for you. I went into this having no idea what it was about. I just bought a ticket at the box office and walked in. As such, I think a lot of humor got lost in translation as I have a feeling there are a lot of drag scene in jokes I may not have gotten. Either way, I was moderately amused for 90 minutes or so.

Great movie with a lot of gags and humor, the plot was solid too and it’s always great seeing the ru cameos
