Overall, the movie’s performances are good, not great, but enjoyable nonetheless.

If it is possible to make a good David Bowie film without any David Bowie music—and without the blessing of Bowie’s family—then this certainly isn’t it.

Прекрасное кино с офигенным актерский составом Мишель Пфайфер и Роберт Де Ниро хороши в любой роли

Because while Stardust covers the period of Bowie’s life just before he released his breakthrough 1972 album, the film doesn’t feature a single track from the record. Or any Bowie music at all.

Flynn’s ferocious commitment to the role is something to admire, even if we’re not completely convinced.

The new David Bowie biopic Stardust could be marketed as “Bowie as you’ve never seen him,” but it feels like “Bowie as no one ever saw him.”

The lack of a solid narrative means Stardust cannot compensate for the production’s modest budget, which lacks a noticeable amount of Bowie songs and includes many scenes filmed on the cheap.

I saw this movie last Wednesday, and I still feel like I’m watching it, like its dry and stuttering dynamic hasn’t yet ended, like I’ll never hear a real Bowie song again. Someone commit me before I’m forced to don my famous alter ego, Lights Camera Jackson, to cope with my insanity.

A well-directed film is evident just by watching the trailer. The script and plot of the movie are interesting to watch. These types of movies depict the life of the protagonist in an interesting way.

The first frame of this film proclaims this is “mostly” fiction, so don’t expect to see or hear much of anything by David Bowie (this is NOT a biopic). Johnny Flynn plays the iconic star before he was famous and makes virtually no effort to look like him. He travels to the US to promote his new record, but the whole trip (and his attitude) is a disaster. The only positive is that the trip and other personal conflicts inspire is his future character reinventions. This is a sullen drama played out with tedious pacing and the singer’s frustrating self-sabotaging attitude. No magic here and not much to provide insight into the real man.

A David Bowie biopic. David **** Bowie. And without his music. Without his music!!! Are you kidding me?
What was the plan?
To whom did they plan to sell this? Obviously not to his fans, and clearly it will be more than useless for those who don't know anything about who he was. No one has to tell you the David Bowie's story. Everything you have to know about him is already in his music.
