This is wall-to-wall mayhem that dashes from one stylish, splattery, nonsensical set-piece to the next, while the star attacks her silly role with the carnivorous brio of an ocelot clawing a side of ham.

The Hollywood Reporter
The actress, wielding a pair of swords like a chef from Benihana, remains a striking action heroine, though she's more convincing visually -- those taut thighs are weapons unto themselves -- than vocally.

I completely love this movie! Alice is such a bad ass once again and there are moments that let people almost dying. For more than once, I thought everyone was going to die. Another amazing movie! Speechless. Surprising. The RE saga is the best.

Variety
Unfortunately, the new pic never really achieves maximum velocity as a full-throttle action-adventure opus, despite game efforts by returning star Milla Jovovich, still a lithe and lethal dynamo when it comes to butt-kicking, zombie-slicing derring-do.

Empire
Better than the silly second instalment and boasting an effectively creepy empty world setting, it’s nevertheless scuppered by a lack of coherence.

This version 3.0 needs an upgrade.

Shoot ’em up, run ’em over, blast ’em with flame-throwers, who cares? These creatures are only there to go splat.

This one is kind of boring till you get to the end. They try to stop the umbrella company from infecting everyone in world. Also try to save Alice while being experienmented on.

An enjoyable ride but fast forgotten. They got the action and horror elements right. However the plot and especially the bad guys plans get worse with each movie. The acting is O.K. while some dialogues are really bad. The third movie continues the story. The T-Virus has spread across the entire world, killed most life and crated a barren wasteland. Alice played by Milla Jovovich has abandoned her companions as she is monitored by Umbrella and struggling with her new powers. Meanwhile Umbrella is also struggling while still be in the relative safety of their hidden underground facilities. Alice joins a new group of survivors and the story begins to take momentum. Like I said the story is mostly a vehicle for the action and horror. This is not a huge problem as this makes the movie enjoyable. There is no need for a great story as Resident Evil was always about B-movie appeal;-). The actors are well chosen and deliver what they could. All missteps I would put on the scrip and dialogues. Milla Jovovich rocks as always and I think it is a role made for her. Ali Larter was a good Claire Redfield and Iain Glen as Dr. Isaacs is a well done villain. Like his struggles and plots to archive his goals. Bonus point for the climax, final battle and resolution here which can be described as team-effort ;-). Sadly they do not use this well in the next movie. My negatives are the plans and plots of the bad guy. With each movie it gets more complicated and senseless. It is like pretending you planed all of this when in reality you have no idea how this happened. Like I said it does not need a masterful story but believable motives for the bad guys are a staple of the games. Overall this was an enjoyable movie that we have fast forgotten. We watched it in cinema and I asked all of my friends if they remembered this movie or thought about it. While they remembered it everyone had not thought about it since then (except when we watched the next one). This is my conclusion as it is a solid experience but nothing special and nothing awful either.

Resident Evil: Extinction is a pretty shabby film, but a damn sight better than its predecessor, Apocalypse (though this isn't saying much - contracting leprosy is preferable to watching Apocalypse). The storyline is a dumb as ever, the characters and script dull and clunky. Giving main protagonist Alice (Milla Jovovich) destructive telekinetic powers was also a mistake - making her such an unstoppable force of nature certainly limits our ability to empathise with her. The cast's performances in general are unremarkable, but at least they actually look like professional actors this time round rather than the highschool drama club-quality performances in Apocalypse. The blatant rip-off of The Birds (though the filmmakers will probably claim that it's a loving tribute) where zombie crows attack is also a new low for the series. What Extinction does have going for it is some pretty entertaining action sequences, creative and brutal zombie kills, and Milla Jovovich wielding a pair of very big knives. Russell Mulcahy (of highlander fame) is also probably the most talented director who's worked on the Resident Evil series thus far - his direction is perfectly competent, with the odd pleasing flourish. Resident Evil: Extinction is a mildly diverting post-apocalyptic film with zombies, action and simplistic, good-looking characters. Should you expect any more from a film like this? Probably not. Does it deliver any more than this? No.

Here these movies really starts to fall flat and become CW zombie movies that look like a cheap tv-show. Even without the slowest of slow motions that comes later, this is a boring slog.
