The writing sometimes collapses into overkill, but sometimes it is precisely on point.

If you find Burr’s stand-up routines funny (and since he routinely sells out arenas, it’s obvious that plenty of people do), you’ll enjoy Old Dads, which also benefits from Cannavale’s hilariously beleaguered reactions, Woodbine’s solid underplaying and some very funny turns by a variety of comedians in small roles.

one of the funniest movies in a long time, a true breath of fresh air - and Bill Burr of course

Thank goodness for Bill Burr and those brave enough to call out the continual BS of the modern world. I was an old dad 20 years ago, and things have only gotten worse. The film is funny and heartfelt. Maybe its appeal will be limited to those affected by its themes, but that's no bad thing. I loved it!

For a first movie, Old Dads shows promise. Bill Burr is onto something about how the new culture of control messes with the heads of ordinary people. Next time, though, he should channel the rage instead of flaunting it.

Given the unapologetic, sharp-edged tone of Burr’s comedy, it’s surprising that as director, co-writer and star of this vehicle, he played it so safe.

It’s funny, here and there. Burr’s not a bad actor, and he surrounds himself with better ones. But this “Last Man Standing” is a smug, presumptuous, pose for any funnyman, even if you are slightly more evolved than Tim Allen.

You can tell that everybody on the set of Old Dads was having an absolute blast making this movie. It's just a shame that the end product feels so directionless and bland. The attempts to be offensive fail, the emotional beats are never effective, and despite a handful of good laughs and amusing cameos, it's never that funny.

It’s so dated there’s even a mention of Halliburton.

Bill's hilarious comedy finally says what everyone else has been thinking while allowing the media to preach non-sensical agendas which have neither logic nor merit. What sets this apart from other reactionary media is that it is #1. Funny and #2. Not full of hate. It's funny to watch on it's own, don't pay attention to "critics" who can not officially appreciate this comedy for what it is without risking losing their jobs

Some good hard laughs but the plot is a little bland. I'd rather see Bill Burr more angry and exhasperated. Bobby Cannavale is solid in most comedic roles and this one works well for him. Not bad as a first film for Bill Burr.

I'm a huge Bill Burr fan and I understand his brand of comedy but this movie is elementary at best. It attempts to fabricate Millennial/Gen Z personalities in order to fit it's dated and cringy narrative. I waited for some sort of bridging the generational gap moment because it would have tied the whole thing together but this is not that type of movie. It's no doubt a smash hit with the Fox News crowd or those who still haven't figured out how to use a smart phone but it provides nothing more than a few laughs for those who have no real perspective on the world around them. Very disappointing work from a very funny comedian.

I save Bobby Cannavale from the rest of this very dull comedy that instead of provoking laughter, I found myself consistently checking the clock to see how much longer it would take for it to end.

Old Man Yells at Cloud: The Movie. Actually ended up falling asleep halfway through. I'm a huge fan of Burr's standup, but the jokes in this were pretty cringe and felt extremely dated for anyone who isn't a rabid Fox News or Joe Rogan fan.
