At its best, the movie makes you feel like a kindred spirit.

Hoffman has countless characters inside of him, and this is one of his nicest.

I loved this movie. It was heart felt and a feel-good movie. Mr. Magorium (Dustin Hoffman) had a beautiful character this is what one would expect from a 243 year old! I loved how each character grew to their full potential and believed! This was one of my favourite movies.

What a marvelous and happy movie. With such heart! This movie gives the viewer hope. "Magic" is in our hearts, what does your heart burn for? Recommended for children and adults who lack "magic" in your hearts. Happy viewing!

USA Today
Writer/director Zach Helm, who wrote "Stranger Than Fiction," achieves bursts of charm and whimsy, but not quite enough magic to elicit a consistent sense of wonderment.

Los Angeles Times
While endearingly heartfelt and G-rated to boot, its storytelling suffers from a lack of locomotive force and characters that feel disappointingly two-dimensional.

New York Post
There isn't anything terribly exciting or original on offer in the somewhat poky directing debut of screenwriter Zach Helm.

The A.V. Club
The idea of a toy store as a living, responsive being is a good one, but Helm doesn't take that idea to imaginative places.

Mr. Magorium, who is 243 years old (so are his jokes), is a cross between Willy Wonka and Geppetto, but Hoffman plays him with little more than a goofy dumb lisp, achieved by tucking his lower lip under his upper teeth, so that he looks just as rabbity-stoopid as he sounds.

This movie requires that you put yourself and all of your demands aside, to just enjoy it and allow it to be. The script is deeper than it seems on the surface but there are many who refuse to open up and take it as anything more than face value. It seems like a lot of the reviews are trying to compare this movie with others or are unhappy with it because it's not what they wanted it to be. It doesn't surprise me that there are those who haven't appreciated the love it conveys whether too hardened or busy to notice, but this movie inexplicably touched my soul and it's one of my favorites.

This is neither one of Dustin Hoffman's nor Natalie Portman's best movies. It's too slow;Dustin Hoffman doesn't play the snappy way he usually does,Natalie Portman is too sweet. I highly recommend you don't see this movie.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is a heartfelt, magical movie, but it never really "rises to the occasion" like Mr. Magorium says. Instead, it tries to be whimsy, but it comes off as forced.

This Movie Is Pretty Bad.,.. It's Somewhat Cute For Little Kids, But It Won't Get The Job Done... The Cast Even Isent That Great.. I Love Natile But Sorry Bad Movie.. It Seems So Uncreative In Some Ways... The Script Is Kinda Lazy But Cute.. All I Can Say Is Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium Will Not Be Voted "Best Movie" Sorry For My Low Score 1!
