Greetings from Lithuania. I wasn't expecting anything from "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" (1993) after 8th part was absolutely terrible, and this one had even lower rating. But to my surprise i actually enjoyed "Jason Goes to Hell" way more then i thought i would be. Sure this isn't a great movie by any means, but i found it darkly funny and with some interesting ideas and premise. The opening 20 minutes were actually good. The last act was kinda been there done that, but even then i found myself more involved into it than many of the sequels. This movie had one of the most solid acting if the most one at that point. These actors actually were pretty good given the material. Overall, i did enjoyed "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" for a majority of its run time. It has interesting premise for like a 9th movie in a very generic slasher series. All in all, this one isn't half bad at all.

After being left in Manhattan’s sewers, Jason returns to Crystal Lake, proving The Final Return wasn’t so final. Dean Lorey’s script has Jason’s spirit find a new body through a family member, targeting the Voorhees descendants. Despite this reincarnation twist, the film struggles with uninspired kills, the forced introduction of a previously unknown sister, and weak narrative. Directed by inexperienced Adam Marcus, the movie suffers from poor character direction and coherence, while borrowing elements from Evil Dead with the Necronomicon and Kandarian dagger. Overall, it is an even weaker entry than its already disappointing predecessor.

Hands down the worst entry in the "Friday" franchise. Clearly this was created by folk that had very little understanding of the franchise

This was totally a botched film for so many different reasons. They tried to take a completely different turn in the series, and this one failed. The cast was not bad, the kills were alright, but the plot was insanely bad. Overall, It's a film that didn't need to be made.

During the 1980s, only two years passed without an entry in the Friday the 13th series. That's eight films in ten years, and while the quality usually betrayed those short production times, they always felt like kin. Spiritual relatives. It took four years for a ninth chapter to see the light of day, plus a switch from Paramount to New Line Cinema, and somewhere along the way there was a great disconnect. A true B-grade picture in every sense, Jason Goes to Hell is the worst Friday yet, and one of the most desperate, flailing, pointless films I've ever seen. Though veteran blade-swinger Kane Hodder has returned to the role, this Jason bears little resemblance to the cool, creepy psycho killer of the earlier films. Inflated and deformed, at this point he's basically a roid-raging leper in a twisted, vaguely-familiar hockey mask, but he's changed in more than just a physical sense. The story revolves around his black heart, literally migrating from host to host to inspire fresh killings, after Jason himself is blown to bits in the opening scene. We've swallowed some absurdly stupid plot devices over the course of this franchise, including a similarly lame-brained "fake Jason" angle in 1985's A New Beginning, but this one sets an awful new standard. It plays like cruddy straight-to-video '90s gimmick horror, not the quaintly under-produced slasher material that had typified the series to this point. Needless to say, the acting hasn't improved (somehow, impossibly, it's actually grown much worse) and the production values, which enjoyed a well-deserved bump in Jason Takes Manhattan, are once again cut-rate and pitiful. Not a good look for New Line, proving right out of the gates that they don't understand what they're making and don't honestly care, one way or the other.

After a promising opening, with Jason on a rampage and a cold, peculiar bounty hunter (Steven Williams) on Jason's trail, Jason Goes to Hell switches focus midway to the young couple, and from there things go downhill. Still, the film has its moments. [14 Aug 1993, p.F1]

Could feel the 90s shift nicely, finally exploring some different horror concepts and options, pretty light on kills, more fun gore showcases. The continuity and lore finally hit rock bottom. All the sudden there's a giant Voorhees mansion and an extended family.

This should get a 0 because as my 4th grade teacher used to write:Stay on topic. This movie masquerades as a sequel but is entirely irrelevant and quite honestly shouldn't be considered a slasher film. I understand that people were complaining that F13 movies are too samey, but no one (not a single person) asked for the entirely lore of the franchise to be retconned. They wanted a new movie. Not a new genre/series However ignoring all of that, it's still a pretty bad movie. Too many potholes, random anime blades, unexplained information and the middle meanders despite being on the shorter size. While the love interest wasn't boring as they usually are in F13 movies, she was annoying. This isn't me just blindly hating the movie however. Its highlights are genuine highlights that are too hard to ignore. It's the first movie with ACTUAL good actors for once. The main character was endearing, the bounty hunter man was a cool guy and the love interest was well acted. The problem is that the writing gave them nothing to work with as their script/concept was pretty dumb. The beginning with the twist before the credits was really cool and I loved the effects. Plus the last 15 minutes were actually a 9/10 movie. Overall, 90% of its faults have to do with the horrendous writing even for an F13 movie. Whoever made/okayed this script/direction should be fired in all honesty. Everything else was pretty good and would've made a legitimately good movie in other circumstances, but the writing/script/concept was ACTUALLY that bad.

These Friday the 13th films just make me smile unlike The Nightmare on Elm Street films even though Elm Street films are better. The body explosion in this was significantly better than the one in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991). This is tonally different to all of the previous films, it’s the nineties diversifying the formula vibe and that is okay. It’s nice and gory, probably goriest yet but I still felt it could have gone further. That did make me wonder why Jason's soul is like something out of a Cronenberg or Henenlotter film. They changed the baby between scenes which is very distracting. Anyway watching this film I lost interest in the middle, there were too many pointless scenes. It lacks the fun of the previous films but adds silliness. The total change to the lore by making it so supernatural feels far too distant from the previous films. Also what was with the The Evil Dead (1981) and The Thing (1982) references? Were they expecting to do a melee along with A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)?

Lacks what made the original franchise so good. It's better than part 8, which doesn't say much. But overall, this is a very boring movie that you'll forget about in less than a day.

The amount of wtfness has never been so high. Those who say the remake was awful, have you seen Jason Goes to Hell? . . Good : There is an interesting character - Duke. He seems interesting a lot. He doesn't do anything significant to shine in the movie, he is just dumping expositions. But the actor makes it likable. If we accept this s**t, the movie isn't as terrible as it is said to be, at least not as terrible as the last two. . . Bad : Yet another f**king whacked out Friday the 13th movie! This feels like a forced piece of s**t that is there just to set up Freddy vs. Jason. So far, there has been no mentioning of supernatural origins of Jason, not even hinted. Freddy's Dead is a garbage film. At least it has only mentioning about the tadpoles that powered him throughout the series. We know about his origins from the subsequent movies. Here, everything is done via exposition. Jason's bloodline plotline is just super crammed for not letting this movie die. I said the movie is whacked out, I definitely don't like this piece of s**t. But it is entertaining in "that" way and only in "that" way. If we had some better characters in a better setting and in a fantasy franchise, I think the ideas for this movie could've worked. But it feels like a dispassionate job of a totally bored creative team. Jason possessing people is another s**t that has never been explained at all. This movie is just a train wreck of weird ideas put on screen. The new elements do not make Jason more interesting. He is perhaps the most goofy and overrated villains of the horror genre. I won't say anything else. It's very boring talking about this movie. . . Conclusion : It is just a generic Disney witchcraft film which is a bit darker, a bit gory and features Jason. That's the perfect way to put it. As I like the fantasy witchcraft things, I enjoyed it a bit more than others. Else, it's nothing good. . . Rating. . . Score : 1.8/10 Grade : F

This is one of those film I have low expectation because I heard it's bad until I watch it. Good story, good characters, good acting, and a fresh idea been use. Many people will disagree but you know what? I don't care because I like it.

This movie is bad, but I enjoy watching it. It's stupid as hell, but it's fun with nice characters to root for.
