this movie is so so so **** good. i decided to watch it on a hunch cause i had heard so much about it. as soon as i watched it, i was OBSESSED and immediately watched the sequals the same night. the whole franchise truly gets you hooked in a way i cant explain. i definitely recommend.

I have a short memory of seeing the first Insidious poster in the theater back in 2010, and whether i watch it in the theaters or not my recollection of the film was only a couple of thing, so rewatching it again still feels pretty fresh, and what a movie, James Wan at his best, a classic horror movie that legit terrifying and incredible and the reason was related to the filmmaker himself, what makes James Wan horror movie so special is that he did not rely on Jumpscare, it's a great horror movie story that also fills with well written characters and it's perfectly perform by all the cast, there is surprisingly an emotional feeling that i get at the end of the film because i was so invested to the story and i was also realising it how well this movie was produce and written, and of course James Wan have his own Horror movie style that are just one of if not the best and the most well technique horror movie style ever in movie, Insidious was perfect in any form, it is one of the most simple yet the most terrifying things i've ever experienced.

The pleasant surprise when you actually watch Insidious is that it turns out to be a moderately effective suburban-family creep show, majorly in debt to "Poltergeist" and "The Exorcist" and capturing at least a little of their spirit.

None of this is particularly well wrought, and only a bizarre gas mask worn by the séance leader counts as an inspired (if slightly silly) touch.

The only remotely entertaining aspects of Insidious come from Whannell and Sampson as a comic pair of hypercompetitive hipster ghost hunters, and even that schtick is repeated ad nauseam.

I thought ‘Insidious’ was a fair attempt at making a horror film using the themes of astral projection, demons and a comatose character but the story line was nowhere as good as the novel ‘The Demon Revels’, which Leigh Whannel stole the idea from. I say stole because ‘The Demon Revels’ was published years before ‘Insidious’ was screened and I find it hard to believe Whannel came up with exactly the same themes as used in ‘The Demon Revels’.

This was one of my first horror movies and to be frank I am quite disappointed. I expected to be scared, even jump once but the movie was incredibly predictable and laughable. If you want a horror movie I don’t recommend Insidious, but if you want to laugh at the predictable scenes with your friends then definitely go for it.

A repertoire of horror movie clichés. Yet another movie about a stereotypical american family that moves into new house and is technically haunted by a demon. Piano keys being slammed or ear-piercing string instruments being played for sound effects, predictable jumpscares, cliché demons etc. The only thing I'll give the movie credit for is their explanation for the haunting. Other than that it's a **** of clichés and I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that people think this is one of the best horror movies out there.
