Although the movie was clearly made on the cheap, cinematography, sets and costumes belie the modest budget. No one will be thunderstruck by the insights buried in "Valentine's Day," but couples seeking romantic fluff probably will find just enough humor and heart to satisfy them.

A plodding mediocrity with an almost mercenary adherence to formula.

I Hate Valentine's Day may not have gotten the best reviews by the critics but I personally found the movie to be great!! The romance and accuracy of 'dating' portrade in the movie was excellent. I not only found great humor in it but also was very touched by the hardening emotions. The long lasting grudge that Nia's character had for something her father had done. I found to be very real and pyschologically possible. 10/10 from me. And I am a straight male!

I Hate Valentine's Day is a great movie-the sexuality is a little borderline, however. Otherwise,it's a great movie. Nia Vardalos and John Corbett are great once again. Don't miss it.

You might blame Nora Ephron, whose screenplay for “When Harry Met Sally” established the formula that I Hate Valentine’s Day runs into the ground. Compared with this, Ms. Ephron is Chekhov.

I Hate Valentine's Day is a horror show masquerading as a romantic comedy. Maybe Vardalos is just in the wrong line of work.

This is probably the year's worst romantic comedy -- and that's saying something in a year that includes "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" and "Whatever Works."

An unspeakable nadir in the career of its writer-director-star.

A nauseating, stridently phony rom-com.
