SummaryIt’s 1990s Seattle and the world’s best bank robber has it all: looks, charm, a sprawling treehouse hideout, and an uncanny ability to disappear using Hollywood-style makeup. But as law enforcement inches closer, his once-carefree life spirals into a suffocating trap, forcing him and his crew to risk it all in one final heist.

Full of the very thrills one might expect from a summer blockbuster.

Where visuals of certain events are unavailable, like Scurlock writing in his journal at night, fully colored and animated storyboards fill in the gaps. It’s an odd semi-glorification, even as How To Rob A Bank throws in a few token mentions of robbery survivors with PTSD at the end, and offers a sense that Scurlock fell into the Butch Cassidy trap of being so hooked on robberies he never knew when to quit.

Wow wow. Such a cool doc with great animation, surprising archival footage, and naturalistic dramatic recreation. Cool soundtrack and loved a lot of the 90s aesthetic- you sort of understand how these guys convinced themselves it was a good idea to risk everything for this money. Really enjoyed it and would love to watch again.

The story has so many layers to it. I was completely locked in from the moment it started. The world of Scott Scurlock was so fascinating. Definitely a movie worth watching. The hippie meth dealer turned bank robber lived in this insane treehouse he built himself but then got addicted to the adrenaline high of robbing banks. Nicknamed Hollywood he took notes out of movies like Heat and Point Break. I loved all the different perspectives throughout the movie- from the accomplices to former friends, FBI agents and local law enforcement. This story is rich with content and super entertaining. Music was great and they incorporated drawings/sketches which added to the value and 90's era vibe. This movie was SO good!!!

There’s quite a bit to chew on in this story, matters the film points to but doesn’t really examine.

Informative and the cartoon art style is a nice touch. The documentary unfortunately suffers from tunnel vision and leaves alot untold.
