Be advised, however, that the idiotic ending doesn’t redeem the uneven middle portion.

I love the movie. It think it was great. I can't wait for it to come out DV or Bluray. I want to own on Bluray. I enjoyed the movie. It was a diaster movie about a man trying to find his wife and trying to save her. I enjoyed the movie. Thank You.

Easily the best Netflix original film I have seen. Cinematography is fantastic and Forest Whitaker was phenomenal.

James always makes a more sturdy than inspiring leading man, but the Great and Oscar winning Whitaker usually has a little more to play than this. Only Dove, playing a mistrusting young woman escaping a limited life for a far riskier one, makes a lasting impression.

How It Ends ends with something of a whimper, leaving us feeling as if a compelling story was undercut by being told through its least interesting characters.

How It Ends had me thinking about endings in general. How it felt like the close of this film would never come. How we so commonly return in cinema, especially lately, to visions of the end of the world. How the actual ending of this film is an atrocious cheat. Trust me, you’re better off not even beginning.

Some films begin with a compelling premise and manage to hold your attention for a good portion of their runtime. How It Ends is one of them. The initial setup works: something has happened, the world seems to be collapsing, and we don’t have all the answers. That uncertainty is engaging, and for a while it creates effective **** issue is that the story never quite figures out what to do with that promising idea. The film unfolds as a continuous journey, with obstacles appearing almost episodically, yet without the central conflict gaining real depth. There is a sense of danger, but also a repetition that slowly weakens the impact.Theo James does what he can in the lead role, and Forest Whitaker brings presence, though the script gives them little room to shape memorable characters. Much of the narrative seems focused on preserving mystery rather than developing the people experiencing it. As a result, emotional involvement remains limited.Visually, it’s solid and manages to build atmosphere without excessive spectacle, which works in its favor. The post-apocalyptic tone is suggested rather than overstated. However, when the ending arrives, the feeling is peculiar. Not so much because of what happens, but because of what doesn’t. It feels more like a pause than a **** It Ends is entertaining and built on an interesting foundation, but it leaves the impression that it could have been much stronger. The concept is good, the beginning is solid, yet the whole feels unfinished. And that ending, open in a way that borders on incomplete, weighs more than it should.

The cast does a great job especially Forest Whitaker and the direction is surprisingly solid but its the stories lack of resolution and even depth drags down the movie. Nevertheless, if you're trying to kill time, it's not a bad watch but its just not anything to write home about.

I should have checked the ratings before wasting two hours on... whatever this was. It’s labeled as a "thriller," but nobody was thrilled. It feels like they didn't even hire a scriptwriter because there’s barely any dialogue throughout the entire boring film. Plus, they explain absolutely nothing about the cause of the disaster. Even Forest Whitaker seemed like he was only paid half his fee since he didn't even make it to the end. As for the main character—who was that guy? Between the foul mouth and the temperament, it’s no wonder this was his last movie.

I created an account just so I could rate this film.
It leaves me with a question: how does it end exactly? We're not shown the cause of the catastrophe. There's no closure. Only a few days in, and already the populace are acting like they've been going hungry for months. Also, Metacritic needs to fix the JavaScript on these text boxes. My cursor keeps jumping backwards.
