San Francisco Chronicle
Not a routine cut-and-paste horror but a full-fledged revenge fantasy -- and a completely satisfying one.

Chicago Reader
If you can accept the flouting of logic and credibility that usually goes with this kind of horror picture, this scary and suspenseful genre exercise, chock-full of false alarms and brutal shocks, really delivers.

the epic finale to a series that has become stale and stupid. this is way better than the thorn trilogy. and yes, im aware of resurecction. that film is, idiotic

ReelViews
H20 is the second-best entry into the series, and, although it's nowhere close to the level established by Carpenter's classic, it avoids the excesses that ruin many would-be horror movies.

Entertainment Weekly
Like Demi Moore leaking tears or Sharon Stone crossing her legs, Jamie Lee Curtis screaming is one of those glorious sights that inspire a generation of moviegoers to binge on popcorn.

Austin Chronicle
Miner strives to imbue the film with the requisite autumnal haze of the original but then gives up midway through and instead resorts to the standard stalk 'n' slash formulas.

Film Threat
BRILLIANT and WITTY. Those are two words that will not be used to described this film.

San Francisco Examiner
Unfortunately, the contemporary horror movie has ceased being an individual work full of surprises and fresh manifestations of the Gothic imagination - it has, instead, been reduced to the level of an inflexible, repetitious, ritualistic event.

I really liked the concept of this movie and how we all go to see Jamie Lee Curtis returning as her star role Laurie Strode. Screw the other movies, Laurie now has a son named Jhon and she is worried that Michael will try to target him. Michaels mask was a little stupid again, and the beginning of the movie was slow but it really picked up in the end. LL Cool J actually did a really good job and he was super funny. The kills were mediocre and I truly think that this movie is worth watching if you like Halloween. Overall, a redeeming movie and everyone that loves the Halloween franchise, loves Laurie Strode.

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. He took up the knife again. Soft restart turned out to be too soft in my opinion. The story itself is interesting, continuing what Halloween II (1981) ended with, but the implementation is very poor. Almost nothing happens throughout the entire movie. You can safely go about your business and return around the end of the film to understand who is who and what will begin now. If, for example, we compare it with the very first film, then there the tension grows very gradually, and I really liked it, but in this part, unfortunately, it’s not even close. The film only saves Jamie Lee Curtis, only because of her you can watch it.

The true sequel to Halloween II, it tries with great effort to utterly defecate on any quality that the preceding sequels hadn't already deprecated Curtis reprises her role, as does Nancy Stephen's. However the former obliterates any memorable qualities her character possessed, while the latter exasperates the trivial featuring of her character's existence. While failing to falter into the cesspit that the previous entries dug, it fails to deliver scares or quality that the first two films established (more-so the first.) Halloween VII is best viewed in trilogy format with the first-two, if you understand you're going from an "A" film to a "C" film to a "D" film. Please with all love ignore the final film in the franchise, unless you're open to experiencing rest to the franchise (literally).

It was ok. Still a little too generic for my taste and the acting was pretty horrible too. The kills werent all that good either. Takes far too long to get into as well. Just another generic addition to the series.
