A fun game that ends much too quickly.
75
Mindless fun for folks who know and enjoy the X-Men license.
71
For those who want a bit of depth to their fighting, it may be too limited.
7
Finally, a superhero game that isn't a platform beat 'em up! It is in fact a pretty bog standard scrolling beat 'em up but it's bolstered by the ability to play as your favourite characters. The best of its type on the Advance, but Batman Returns on the SNES is still the gold standard for this type of thing.

Very simple but ok game. Nice colours, music and a lot of well know characters. A lot of secret characters available through the secret codes, dont miss them and google those codes

Compared to "Spiderman," another Activision release, this game pales like Storm’s hair. It’s a good game, but an even better rental.
68
It doesn’t offer much in terms of long lasting appeal or replayability.
50
It's the type of game you can essentially play with your eyes closed if you push the buttons fast enough, and most players will breeze through it in an hour or two with little resistance.
40
The gameplay mantra of advance, stop, button mash, advance, stop, button mash (think "Final Fight" minus the fun) gets crushingly repetitive.
30
The in-game dialogue has all the creativity and wit of a Fred Basset cartoon. [Nov 2001, p.222]
