There are very few games on the market that I would grant the title "King's Field-like". Verho - Curse of Faces stands as the best of them. This game could not nail the PS1 ASCII Entertainment vibes any harder if FromSoftware made it themselves. Newcomers will want to try the demo first, but King's Field fans should not hesitate to take the full plunge. You will not be disappointed.

Aimed primarily at fans of the genre, Verho – Curse of Faces is a more than successful project. Even despite its shortcomings, it shows that more modest games can, in some respects, surpass high-budget AAA productions.

Verho: Curse of Faces is a game that dares to go its own way. It captures the same melancholic loneliness as Hollow Knight and combines it with an exploratory element clearly inspired by King's Field. The result is a world that constantly draws me in and a story that keeps me wanting to see what lies around the next corner. At the same time, a few recurring annoyances hold the overall experience back.
