The game lacks AI-controlled competition (you’re alone on the map) and therefore is not as addictive as 22-year-old Transport Tycoon. [01/2017, p.41]
This is kinda weird. On one hand Transport Fever manages to improve an almost everything that was good on its predecessor. But on the other hand some of the weak points like the abysmal economic system remain untouched. But if you are into figuring out the best logistics route for a variety of goods and needs, this is definitely for you.

You will inevitably end up with a tangled web of lines, some of which are always operating at a loss, yet are necessary to keep the whole system running. It’ll take hours to think out and build this system, but it’s just so incredibly satisfying to look upon your empire and realize that yes, it works just as planned. [Issue#215, p.60]

A Nostalgic Classic; Transport Fever 1 remains a captivating experience for those who love the foundations of transportation simulation! Players can feel the spirit of the Industrial Revolution by building railway networks, ports, and airports, embarking on a historical journey from the 1850s to the 2000s.

Compared to the predecessor it offers better cargo systems and good new transports, but the controls are still flawed.

Great game if you are a fan of the genre. Most importantly it is cross platform, and it runs smooth on my Linux setup. You need a dedicated graphics card and it is very resource hungry (compared to other games of this genre). The game is available on Steam and GOG, so you can get a DRM-free copy. It has a pretty high simulation complexity. Every Person is simulated separately. They have a home, a workplace and a shop they'd like to visit. Some of them want to travel as quickly as possible, others as fast as possible. You'll get money depending on how fast you can transport them. For this purpose you have trains, buses, ships and airplanes available. There is also a quite complex Goods system which can be served by your transport business. It is not a simple game, especially in the beginning and can be frustrating, if you are not patient. Also laying tracks is very tricky if you are not familiar with the provided tools, but they are very powerful if you start to master them. You can build very complex track installations. There is also a very nice campaign mode, where you can play some episodes of American and European transport history. Moreover there is a great modding community for this games and already more than 200 mods are available on steam workshop and the community web page (mostly vehicles).

Transport Fever is a great simulation game. It feels like a real challenge and all the transport history looks incredible. The world itself could use some polishing to feel more like a living world and time could be slowed down a bit. The music though!

An ugly UI and some gameplay simplifications don't prevent Transport Fever from being an interesting product, especially if you are used to filling your games with tons of mods.

I can find myself warming up to Transport Fever. Still, I find it hard to recommend the game to anyone but hardcore transportation sim fans, and even then only if you are a bit of a glutton for punishment. If that description fits, you’ll find a fairly capable simulation that you’ll likely enjoy for a couple of weeks.

In all ways, unfinished transport tycoon, which was released for some reason –instead of being left in Early Access mode for a few more months. [Issue #269]

Unfortunately Transport Tycoon successor didn´t happen this time. Transport Fever is absurdly difficult compared to the iconic original, more complicated and mostly prefers the management over the constructive matters. Play the game only if you miss more paperwork in TTDX desperately.

Well done both the Gambitious Digital Entertainment and the Urban Games team for the hard work provided in this second episode. The very well done and interesting campaigns, fantastic detailed graphics, the well improved cargo system make this game addictive. For the first time in years, I have the feeling that some people did work hard on a game and most importantly had listen to players. Many hours of playing are already planned. I have been a fan of transport games for years and it looks like it won't stop tomorrow. Bravo! If you liked Train fever, you won't be disappointed by this new sequel.

The idea of the game is good to transport cargo, etc., but it is very upsetting that even at the minimum settings the computer is fiercely heated, and the game is lagging, it is rather poorly optimized, but I want to emphasize that over time new modes of transport appear and open up, but the lags of the game are only getting bigger over time

This game starts of way to slow. The first hour or so you have money for one train and one route you build it and than just wait. The 3 time speed is a joke maybe if they added a 10x speed this game would get more interesting. Now its just way to slow paced. You can watch a movie and play this game at the same time.
