There’s a definite focus shift from tactics to strategy – which is risky, considering that tactical combat had always been a staple of Total War series. It couldn’t be avoided, though: unlike Medieval and Rome settings, China simply lacks variety in troops types. So fights end up being very predictable – while Chinese politic field is anything but! Almost perfect campaign system (for me the perfect is the medieval2 maybe because of the nostalgia) but the battle is perfect! OMG. But I can't add 10 points due to the blood dlc... Why???

Les Total War se suivent et malheureusement se ressemblent (mis à part les warhammer). Peu de nouveauté : une carte de campagne (en Chine) des généraux très puissants faisant penser aux dynasty warriors puis voila, le reste vous connaissez déjà si vous connaissez la licence. Dommage !

In the end, Total War: Three Kingdoms is essential for fans of Chinese history, the romantic depiction of the era, and all-round history buffs. The steep learning curve is well worth the time investment as the enhanced and expanded diplomacy and management side moves the series forward in meaningful ways.

I don't think anything fairer than a note 10! There are many small details that could be better. Regardless, I have a lot of fun trying new lords and different ways to play. I highly recommend! At first, you get lost with so much information, but soon you get used to it and want more! Of the total wars I've played, I believe it's the best in interface, difficulty and story.

Great game, maybe best historical piece of total war since medieval 2 are getting bit outdated. Great graphics, great story driven campaigns almost on all factions. Hero mechanics is just awesome. I just hope CA takes best features of this game on to their future total wars.

Three Kingdoms is the most divergent Total War I’ve seen since Total War: Warhammer. I would in fact call it the first post-Warhammer historical installment, taking what is good in fantasy and using it to compliment the historical components of the game. On top of that, it revamps both diplomacy and spying, two aspects of the series that desperately needed updating.

After several years, we finally have a true Total War experience in Three Kingdoms. Covering almost everything that a fan of strategy genre craves, Three Kingdoms is one of the most complete entries in the TW series and one of the best strategies in recent years.

The Three Kindgoms are a great setting for this new Total War because it can provide some fantasy elements taken from the last Warhammer games. The mix is consistent enough to work well, just like the new spying system.

Three Kingdoms is another solid instalment in the Total War franchise, but lacks a certain wow factor. Creative Assembly has made some clever refinements around the edges of that enduringly addictive strategic core, allowing fans to steep themselves in yet another historic saga. However, there’s a chance that some won’t gel with this new setting or the way Guanzhong’s epic has been adapted. It’s another fun and rewarding take on the series, though we’d struggle to call it a must-buy.

Después de unas 150 horas jugadas en el modo Campaña habiendo probado diferentes facciones puedo decir que a mi parecer es el mejor Total War y más completo. Está todo tan bien señalado, explicado y claro, que cualquier jugador novel podría atreverse a jugar sin apenas dificultad. Como novedad para este juego, han implementado la gestión de tus tropas con tener 3 generales y mi gusto, mecánica nueva es una pasada!!!!. Las batallas son las mas épicas que he visto, los escenarios están muy elaborados, las unidades se ven muy bien. Una gran mejora que se va notando con los años y con cada Total War es la Inteligencia Artificial del Juego, que en este juego me parece brillante, tanto en el modo campaña como cualquier batalla. Las alianzas por fin se ven que si sirven y mucho. Creo que es completo a todo sentido y espero que los futuros juegos de esta compañía vayan por este camino. Ya como mejora, aunque los Dlcs son estupendos, me hubiera gustado que en cada Dlc hubiera más facciones jugables, pero por todo lo demás, este juego es el Rey de los Juegos.

Zzzzzzzz...Cluttered poorly explained and distracting UI...discount cartoony WoW style graphics and colours, historical mode (Records Mode) seems tacked-on, poorly organized settlement building system. Battles are smooth, thats a pro. For the record I played on hard my first try and am winning despite not understanding or engaging with many mechanics such as generals liking each other or not. Don't buy unless there's a big sale.

I cant understand why these games get such high ratings, where do i start? Boring campaign gameplay, (if youve ever played a paradox 4x game total war games are extremely simple and boring on the map) repetitive battles that all play out the same way if they arent just auto resolved, long loading times, bad graphics, bad performance, bad interface. Just in general this series entire premise of meshing a watered down 4x experience with the real time battles is just dated, it needs an overhaul, the battles are not fun.. they arent even interesting and your actual tactics are extremely limited, youll end up auto resolving them all rather than sit through the 60 second load screen and spending 10minutes doing the usual flank/ cavalry charge routine just to save 100 casualities. This series has not evolved very much for the time its been going, the developers seem content in reskinning the same game and releasing it as a new $60 game every couple of years. I hope someone swoops in and takes this concept and makes it actually fun because it is a good concept, its just executed poorly by todays standards.
