Although not as complex as "Tekken Tag," or as simple to play as "DOA2," Street Fighter EX3 is still a fighter, and one that can battle with the best of them on the PS2.

New characters and updated graphics that only the PS2 could offer, and on the other hand... well, terrible slowdown and sometimes unbalanced gameplay are just a few of the many flaws early adopters found themselves clamoring about.

EX3 may feel a bit rushed in some spots, but overall it's a fun and great-looking fighting game that won't disappoint longtime EX fans.

Overall, this is definitely a decent 3D fighter, just it is too generic of a 3D fighter at times.

A typical EX game: solid, a bit boring, and uninspired. It lacks the key elements--great graphics, tight gameplay, and personality in its game design--that give the 2D Street Fighter games their appeal.

Graphically, EX3 is mediocre (compared to "Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore" and "Tekken Tag Tournament"), with its unrealistic, blocky characters and sparkly effects.

In strict gameplay terms, save for the multiple character options, Street Fighter EX 3 doesn't represent anything we haven't seen before.

Putting a 3D face on a 2D game just doesn’t cut it.

Throwing a fireball at Ken is still as much fun as ever, and it does look better than any other Street Fighter EX game. It won’t be the best Street Fighter game you ever play, but it’ll be fun nonetheless.

With the tag combos, tag meteor combos, and dozens of special move-laden combos, there's plenty of depth here for fighting game fans.
