Steel Seed
Steel Seed doesn’t aim to revolutionize the genre, but it succeeds by offering a simple and enjoyable adventure. It’s a modest offering, yes—but one of those quiet releases that can still give you a genuinely good time.
Steel Seed delivers a competent but unremarkable stealth-platforming experience. While a few set pieces add brief excitement, the game ultimately leans too heavily on familiar stealth mechanics, standard platforming, and a generic sci-fi setting.
While it’s got some nice aspects, especially the visuals, Steel Seed feels like it never reaches its full potential because it can’t decide between being a stealth or combat experience, and ends up being great at neither.

Steel Seed is exactly the kind of game that reminds me why I love this medium. A small independent studio, working with a fraction of a AAA budget, has delivered something many major publishers would be proud to put their name on. The presentation is stunning gorgeous visuals, confident art direction, and a soundtrack that instantly gave me Stellar Blade vibes. The tone hooked me from the opening moments.Gameplay-wise, Steel Seed sits comfortably alongside titles like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor. The sci‑fi setting, traversal, combat flow, and even the dynamic between the protagonist and her robot companion feel pleasantly familiar in the best way. Some reviewers mentioned Splinter Cell and Tomb Raider, and I can absolutely see that too: the emphasis on stealth over direct confrontation, the ledge to ledge platforming, and the female lead all echo those classics without ever feeling derivative.Interestingly, I first saw a trailer for this game a while back and thought it looked great, but it eventually slipped off my radar. Then, while browsing Steam reviews for something completely different, I came across someone mentioning Steel Seed. I checked it out again and boom instant purchase. Steel Seed deserves far more attention than it’s getting. I’m tired of bloated AAA releases built on recycled formulas, reskinned mechanics, and zero creative risk. This game feels like the opposite: a focused, passionate project made by people who genuinely love video games and want to share that ****’s beautiful, thoughtfully crafted, filled with charm, and anchored by characters you actually want to spend time with. I highly recommend it.

Steel Seed is not a flashy game, it does have some generic moments, but it’s a lot of fun to play. The game world is very well made, the main character and her drone sidekick are great as well. And in the end, the journey that Steel Seed takes us on is amazing, very exciting and it also has its surprises.

Steel Seed is definitely not a perfect title: it suffers, in particular, from a combat that is not very clean, from occasional glitches, and from a story that has very few high points. It remains, however, a game of average quality characterized by spectacular settings and a soundtrack with some nice moments. If in the future Storm in a Teacup manages to fix the feel pad in the hand of its games, it is not impossible that in five years from now the Roman group will be able to surprise us with some nice things.

Despite Steel Seed being steeped in familiar tropes and clichés, the developers paid close attention to the visuals and crafted gameplay that strikes a solid balance between stealth action and hack-and-slash mechanics.

Steel Seed is an exciting attempt to take on the big boys in the stealth-action genre. It doesn't quite reach the level of Uncharted or The Last of Us, but it doesn't need to. It's charming, fun, and at times quite cool, and while there's a bit of technical jank and a few rusty screws in combat and controls, the good parts outweigh the bad to make it all worthwhile. I hope the developers are allowed to build on this universe, because with a little more money and a little more polish, the next game in the series could be something really special.

When Steel Seed is at its best, it's a blast. Unfortunately, its best moments mostly end up emphasizing what could've been, making the weaker points that much more disappointing. It's not a bad game by any stretch; it's easy to get sucked into and, for the most part, is enjoyable to play. However, it doesn't do enough to stand out from the similar titles that came before it. As much fun as it can be at times, it falls short of being something truly memorable.

Steel Seed is cursed by mediocrity. Its combat is a low point, so abrasive that I’d rather restart whole areas when I got caught rather than have to navigate its jank. But it’s real problem is that everything else, from the bland characters and predictable story, to the forgettable locations that the tale takes you through, to the initially fun stealth sections that eventually wear thin, will lose the fight for a spot in my memory as soon as I’m done with this review. That’s a real shame, because there are a small handful of shiny chrome moments to find here, but they are buried under a whole lot of rust.

OMG, I wasn't expected such a great game. I was really like "seems ok, let's buy it". In the end, graphics are very nice, gameplay is very good, Zoe movements are very natural and pleasant, nice mix of exploration, action and stealth. Environements are huuuuuuuge , I mean like insanely immense with many animated things to see, the studio did a great level design. So don't listen to the haters, as usual ;)

Steel Seed presents promising moments, with grandiose scenarios and good gameplay ideas. However, it stumbles in crucial aspects such as confusing level design, visual repetition and lack of technical polish. Although it has flashes of quality (especially in its final stretch), the game loses much of its shine along the way. It is an experience that almost germinates, but does not flourish as it could.

Visually impressive, but narratively uninteresting. I can't get immersed in the gameplay when the story is so underwhelming. It seems like this game was just an excuse to make a ro-booty main character and a bunch of sci-fi 3D assets. The one-sided monologues are really boring and cringey. I'd avoid or at least make sure you can get a refund if you buy on Steam.
