Even after several updates, Star Wars: Hunters can’t capture the verve nor engagement of other Hero shooter/brawler hybrids. The end result is a surplus of characters, modes, and cosmetics that’s swamped by lacklustre design, aesthetics, and mechanics. For this sub-genre, calling it mediocre feels too generous. For a new-ish Star Wars game, it ranks among the weakest efforts since Disney took over.
Star Wars: Hunters does a great job of creating fast paced matches with unique and balanced characters. Each level is well thought out and keeps the games moving at a steady pace. The game modes, while straightforward, are interesting and full of detail for Star Wars fans. If you like Star Wars, you’ll love this free game with new characters and plenty of explosions.
Hunters is not quite as much fun as playing Overwatch … or watching Star Wars. It could have done with some truly original features, or more movie content tied in with the gameplay. Instead, it is a decent team shooter that you can play on Switch or mobile, and swap your progress between the two, so you never have to go more than a few moments without levelling up a wookiee. Yes, it tries to bamboozle you with many quests, challenges and blinking icons on the menu screen so that you inevitably fold and buy a £10 season pass, but you can definitely defeat the game’s Jedi mind tricks and have a blast without paying. The force is strong in this one, but not THAT strong.

I have this game for the Switch (it is free on it so) but is actually very great. You might be asking to yourself "If the game is very great so why do he thinks it is a 6/10?" I will show the answer right away. As you can see on the trailer, there are a lot of cool characters, I can see all of them appearing on a Star Wars movie, the begginer chracter is very OP for a beggining character on my opinion. All of the places you fight are well designed. But the only issue with that game gets very hard after too many rounds. Unless you have a extremely OP character, then you are good. But like that is very hard to unlock characters in my opinion.

Star Wars Hunters is overall a solid entry. Most Star Wars are single player games and the last shooter, Battlefront 2 raised the bar high and left many wanting a third Battlefront title. But because of this many are disappointed with this game. But honestly this game is really fun, it clearly is worse than the Battlefront games and others but keep in mind this is a free shooter made for mobile so of course it ain't top AAA gaming. The gameplay is fun, at launch it felt a bit too much like Overwatch and still does but it has a bit more originality and is more Star Wars. The graphics are quite decent considering it's mobile game. Music as with basically every Star Wars game is good. These are all nice but there is one thing, microtransactions. Microtransactions are present in this game, if you want the newest hunter (hero character) you gotta pay or wait. It isn't too bad since you can just wait like I said, but still. There's also a battle pass just like Fortnite, you have free and premium, the latter you need to pay for and you can't use in-game currency like Fortnite's V-Bucks to pay for the premium tier. The game also has some sort of lootboxes but where I, Belgium they are not present since they are banned so I can't speak of experience. Like I said fun game, nothing to crazy but I recommend, it's only free so you won't lose anything unless you spend everything on the shop or battle pass.

Star Wars: Hunters’ lighthearted PvP fun is like a party at the Death Star: Impressive for a bit, but probably not a place you’ll want to hang around for too long

Star Wars: Hunters is a surprisingly fun and good game that you should definitely check out. The characters, maps, modes and even the gameplay are well balanced, designed and even implemented in the game. There's just something missing. Over time, you'll find that it lacks depth, and longer matches would definitely help.

The gameplay is solid, and everything feels as though it is polished and fun, but without much to truly capture the attention of the community, there is a concern that after the initial hype dies off, the matches could begin to struggle with maintaining an active player base. That said, this game does have a lot to offer, particularly for Star Wars fans, being a well-crafted entry into the genre of competitive arena combat battles. Especially being free-to-play, Star Wars: Hunters is a fun game that is absolutely worth a try.

Star Wars: Hunters places a basic intergalactic skin over a generic F2P team shooter, but there’s fleeting fun within those modest expectations.

How f.cking dare Star Wars: Hunters? I really hope it becomes yet another “service” game that’s been shut down in less than a year. It deserves to be burned to nothing.

10/10 Great start. Not bad at all! Good gameplay, music is great. The game is fun and addictive. Considering how baren and poor perforning other hero shooters perform on the switch should be noted. I think this is the best hero shooter on the switch, it performs at a steady 30fps, has vibration support (mobile doesn't), gyro support, and is free. All characters can be unlocked for free (even aran tal will be free after the season ends). Hours of gamplay maxing out characters. I have purchased some skins to support the developer. I do want: voice chat, earn coins or general fame grants for maxed characters, news about the next season should happen during current season - give fans something to look forward to. The Microtransactions are optional and cosmetic. Arena pass is 10 dollars and is the best deal in the game. I recommend the game - it is free!!!!! No harm in checking it out.

Star Wars: Hunters is a team based arena shooter that has been well polished in the right places. The aesthetic is stylishly cartoony with a distinctive Star Wars skin and does its job to carry that weight. The gameplay leans more on the simplistic side, evidently to be as accessible as possible to attract new players and grow the player base, but does just enough to keep you coming back for more. In contrast to other similar games that take a more nuanced and tactical approach to their game modes, Hunters aims to provide shorter bursts of quick paced, bombastic action. Characters are not perfectly balanced, but balanced well enough to not hinder the experience. My one complaint is that the micro transactions do not seem well thought out, and the F2P currency you accumulate is not spendable considering the available options in the store. Overall, I’d give this title a 7/10, definitely worth the try if you are a fan of Star Wars.

Very fun game. I've been playing since launch and having encounter grind or paywalls yet. However, I have to take a few points off for the monetization. It's not as intrusive as many Free to Play Games, but who's running the shop? Watto? I got 10k credits, but nothing to spend them on.

Boring. A cheap feeling arena shooter with subpar graphics and basic gameplay. It seems like just content generated to create microtransactions. Not really worth your time.

While somewhat exciting at first, it quickly goes stale when you realize how shallow and simplified the gameplay is. No experience feels unique whatsoever with such limited options for your loadout, and having literally 3 abilities per character. Sifting through monetization pop-ups and storefront menus takes up more time than the quick, small matches that the game is based around. "But they're just cosmetics" is a funny defense, for how aggressive the bait is, when compared to how simple the game is. Remember: if you buy any of these cosmetics, you're just putting more money in Disney's greedy pockets.
