It looks great and provides a decent challenge. [Feb 2003, p.97]

An insanely good time!

The graphical detail throughout makes this a new watershed in handheld game design.

The main problem with this game is its OST. The game itself is a pretty solid platformer and, from a graphical standpoint, it’s among the best you can expect on the GBA. However, the music is disappointing, they replaced the original masterpiece soundtrack with a repetitive and rather annoying one. Overall, it’s still a good game, but if you have the opportunity, you’re strongly advised to play it on PS1 or PC instead.

Nice artstyle and gameplay, the ending is a bit underwhelming and the fact that you have to restart whole levels if you lose all lives is a bit bad, overall good game

Ehh i had better 2d plattforming but this game is still kinda fun if im being honest

As good as it gets when it comes to platform games. I even like this game better than "Super Mario Advance."

I used to think I loved this game for the nostalgia of playing it back in the day. But after replaying it recently, I’ve realized I would’ve praised it just as much if it had come out in 2025 instead of 1995.

Absolutely gorgeous, offering multiple scrolling backgrounds with superbly detailed, painted look to them.

Looking good doesn’t hurt the game, but it’s RA’s accessibility that makes it a game that every fan of platform gaming should have. There’s a sense of fun about RA.

It’s fun, it’s beautiful and it’s what you’ve always wanted on a handheld in terms of platform mechanics.

Anyone who is not prepared to be mercilessly challenged should avoid the purchase.

Graphically, this is the finest game we've experienced on the new handheld console and once you've seen some of the incredible character animations, you won't know whether to laugh or cry in sheer amazement.

This game is fantastic. One of the launch titles for the Gameboy Advance, this game truly demonstrates what the system is capable of. The enviroments are lush and beautiful, character animtions are fluid and stunning, the gameplay is difficult, but it has that "I can do it" feeling to it. If you like 2-D platformers, don't miss this game.

A pretty looking platformer that adds a mild Metroidvania element for a little variety. Unfortunately, rather than a free-roaming environment to explore it merely forces you to replay the same linear levels over and over which kind of defeats the object. A solid but generic example of cutesy platforming for the younger player.
