On the Rain-Slicked Precipice of Darkness 4 manages to be a trip down memory lane, a hilarious collection of Penny Arcade humor, and a worthy RPG all at once.

Rain-Slick 4 feels like a good place to end the series, and anything further would only cause things to stagnate. The game never feels like time wasted, which is a rarer statement these days. Those who have enjoyed Zeboyd's previous efforts will not be disappointed here and will find a game that offers great appeal to RPGamers of all generations. Zeboyd Games continues to show improved mastery of turn-based battle systems, and it will be interesting to see which direction its next game takes things.

In the end, Penny Arcade Episode 4 is similar to the final chapter in many things. If you've gotten this far, you should probably buy it and finish the thing. As of this writing, it's only $5, and while it's short, you will get your money's worth as well as closure on a story that we weren't sure would get any kind of ending at all. If you enjoyed Episode 3, you're likely to feel the same way about Episode 4, but the reverse is equally true.

It's no Earthbound, but that's the precipice the game is tentatively tiptoeing around, and the fun itself is far from tongue in cheek.

Here, the jokes override everything, and with nothing to bring you up to speed, it’s easy to forget what’s going on and why you’re fighting so many silly enemies.

The straightforward progression is perfectly suited for a diet RPG, but the underdeveloped systems and mindless combat bring the breakneck pacing to an exasperating crawl.
