With Party Wave, you're in for a good time. Its accessible yet deep gameplay will challenge you more than the vast majority of iOS titles, without being frustrating.

A very fun and refreshing game, and a great start for Hironobu Sakaguchi on mobile platforms. The control is good and the gameplay mechanics are great, but it lacks some more depth and options. We also miss a multiplayer mode.

For all its charm and cleverness, Party Wave falls on the wrong side of the line between originality and accessibility. There's promise and style to be found here, but not nearly enough entertainment.

We hope that Sakaguchi was distracted while Mistwalker was deveolping Party Wave: it would be the only reason to justify such an uninspired and shallow game.

If taken in quick bursts, Party Wave can be pretty fun, but once you've seen the first four or five levels, there aren't going to be many surprises to keep you going.

A painfully simple pair of ideas that are executed poorly and endlessly recycled.

The creator of Final Fantasy creates… a not very good smartphone mini-game, with annoying controls and all the longevity of a terminally ill butterfly.
