Parasite Eve II

Like a precious gem, PE2 shines brilliantly--its pristine simplicity belying the powerful forces of nature which led to its production. From Aya Brea herself, the love child of Hironobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura, to the haunting, grotesquely fascinating scenario of writer/director Kenichi Iwao (of Resident Evil fame), the game comes together to form something beautiful the likes of which only nature and, in rare cases, humans are known to produce. But Parasite Eve 2 is from the development team at Square which, to those familiar, should therefore come as no surprise. I won't bother with the details--you either have played it or you should. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and there might never be another game like it. Video games are part art, science, and to some degree a product of the time and circumstances under which they're developed. We can never go back to the time that produced great games of the past, and given the opportunity we might screw up the attempt anyway. Parasite Eve 2 was created by passionate individuals using whatever was available to them at the time. You can nitpick over features or technology, but beauty and greatness transcend such shallow metrics. It also transcends my, or anyone else's ability to articulate. If you haven't, give this one a try.

Para mi, uno de los mejores juegos de la Ps1, supera en todos los aspectos a su predecesor, quizás la historia aquí es más convencional, pero igual es buena, buenos gráficos para la época, gran variedad de criaturas y un grandioso arsenal de armas, la gran variedad de niveles de dificultad desbloqueables le añaden una excelente re jugabilidad.

Worse than the first one in every aspect except graphics, models and cinematics. The combat is fun if you know how to choose your perks. Mediocre story and characters. A lot of walking and backtracking.

Totally a Resident Evil wannabe but the game is actually good, better than most RE "clones" from back then or even modern ones. A bit more sci-fi than horror and a bit more difficult than most RE. If you like classics RE you will enjoy this. And again, a solid candidate for a Remake.

Jogo medíocre. Muita gente se deixa levar pela nostalgia que sente, mas se esquece do quão meh esse jogo foi. Movimentação horrível, trama assustadoramente fraca (pros padrões do primeiro game), boss fights enjoativas e sem grandes recompensas. Preciso falar da ambientação mesmo? Que só se passa em 2 cenários? (Sendo que o primeiro se passa em mais de 6, e todos detalhados. Mesmo sendo mais leve e com menos recursos a ambiebtação do primeiro é magnífica) Esse jogo me enganou nas primeira 2 ou 3 horas de game. Mas é de fato um jogo bem esquecível.
