Overlord II feels like a shining beacon of quality. Not only is it a distinct improvement on the original, but the new features add greatly to what was already a superbly entertaining game. It manages to strike an excellent balance between being challenging and rewarding, and does so throughout with a wicked smile on its face.

Overlord 2 offers a lot of options for customization, be it in the form of minion upgrades, spell specializations, and purely aesthetic options like how to decorate your fortress and which of your mistresses you choose to favor.
It’s very Diablo-like in its playability, in that it often throws a lot of opposition at you, but with a full complement of minions and a powerful weapon, you’ll usually cut through them nicely.

The first Overlord was like the new kid on the block who had a strange and interesting idea and ran with it until it won gold in its own race. Overlord 2 however disappointing in the way that the developers took no chances to make the game more fun, they doubled the map size but 3 quarters of it feel empty. The minion control concept is still unpolished and a struggle to make use of. The story is boring and railroaded unlike the first game where you decisions had an effect, this game seems to play the exact same no matter what you did or didn't do. The resources you need to to get upgrades can only be gotten with a ridiculous amount of grinding. I never really laughed in the first game but it was charming anyway. The second game felt like anticomedy, it **** comedy out the game with all the recycled jokes and lazy innuendos. I would say stick to the first overlord and stay there. I think if they just tried to add quality of life improvments instead of concepts that you only get to play with a handful of times then it would have been much easier to play.

Very strong sequel that adds a lot of new fun mechanics and captures well aspects that made the first game so great. The story is silly and fun, but doesn't hit with the heavy emotional weight, unexpected twist or masterful symbolism quite like the 1st game. Most prominent feature - definitely unique, fun and engaging gameplay.

There was several times during the game that I laughed out loud and that helped make this already enjoyable game much more fun. Certainly a must buy for fans of the original or just action fans in general but if you did not like the first game make sure you try out the demo first because the innovation from the first game is not that noticeable until you are well into playing it.

Overlord II is an expanded sequel that provides more of the same loveable minion action from the first. Triumph isn't looking for a new audience as this targeted follow-up is meant to please fans of the original.

The game isn't terribly long, likely lasting most players a bit more than twenty hours if they take their time, but there is room for a second playthrough if players want to try a different evil philosophy.

It's fun to be evil in Overlord II. Collecting wenches, decorating the dark tower, buying weapons, and upgrading magics all work towards making the main character seem as powerful as possible. In the end, it's a better game than the original, but not by as much as would be hoped.

A decent effort that will need a few tweaks here and there to perfect it.

This demon-controlling adventure lets you do more fun things with your evil minions, but Overlord II hasn't shaken all of the issues that held back the first game.

Dishing out this weak score is like putting an adorable puppy out of its misery. [Sept 2009, p.84]

A rare game, especially nowadays when it comes to its style, a game about being an evil guy that doesnt take itself to serious is always fun to see, it has fun and unique gameplay but not perfect, it gets to be a bit clunky at times and the lack of a dodge/block button really limits the overlord arsenal, however the main point of the gameplay is to order your minions around, and even that isnt as perfect as 1 would want, competent but a bit frustrating when push comes to shove. Overall: The game has a lot of charm and funny moments, decent soundtrack, few fun sidequests, a decently sized world to conquer and a bit clunky but fun gameplay

While not as satisfying as the original overlord, still a very enjoyable game, great humor and a fun story, pc controls could be better. There is abit of customization and building up your keep to give extra flavor, but the true joy is in the minions and their comments, and their wacky choice og gear and weapons.

The game is fun for about an hour or two, then transforms into an unplayable **** ****. I wasted $30 on a game I can't even play 25% of the way through. If I had a time machine (not rented from Mario, mind you), I would travel back to when I saw the game, **** slap myself across the face and say, "you little **** human. Do not touch this game." This game truly is evil. Bad to the bone. Stealing candy from babies. It's BAD.

SummaryOverlord II is the sequel to the warped fantasy action adventure that had players being delightfully despotic. In Overlord II, a new Overlord and a more powerful army of Minions take on an entire empire in a truly epic adventure, inspired by the rise of the Roman Empire. As the Glorious Empire conquers kingdoms and destroys any sign of m... Read More
