The game play is kind of like where's Waldo, but with a thick and meaningful story thrown into the meat of it, it's charming and so are the characters. This is a game that I am happy to have in my library of nintendo switch games.

This is a great little game. Generally I'm in agreement with critics on a specific point: the narrative is what you show up for. However, the game is more than just a story. The whole thing from beginning to end (story, characters, gameplay, audio, graphics) is cute and uncomplicated. Much like a number of other popular indie titles, this is just a simple way to de-stress. This sort of game is great for people who are just tired of dealing with crap all day and need an escape. The game gives you something to apply yourself at, but it won't punish you for failure, and it won't force you into stressful situations. It's just a calm, slow, deep breath. Recommended for people with families and high-stress jobs.

Although the story is charming and the soundtrack brings out a rich atmosphere, the gameplay in Opus: The Day We Found Earth is lacking. The challenge that was basically inexistant in the beginning picked up at some point as the tension rose, but it basically remain from beginning to end a star selection followed by a yes-or-no answer. Finished the game (story) in a little less than 2 hours without rushing with a reported completion rate of about 65%, which means that technically I could replay and aim higher but I don't see the point. I wish the planet research was a little more elaborate, but then again for a $6 game I can't be too harsh, which is why I'm giving it a 7/10 mostly for its charm and soundtrack.
