Stylish, fast paced and pretty hard. The bosses are definitly a highlight with that classic arcade difficulty. The story is a bit flat but i guess thats part of the series.

Just an average game. I HATE the time limit that is imposed using the second character.
It`s just frustrating to repeat over and over again.

What an awesome game! Not as atmospheric as Blasphemous, but a very well made game regardless.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a great, fast-paced action platformer that's worth a try if you enjoyed the NES classics, or if you just like 2D action games. It isn't the most robust package, but what is here is solid, and will challenge you as much as you want.

The best part of Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is the history around The Messenger developers and the Ninja Gaiden NES producers.
Ninja Gaiden inspired The Messenger and the latest one inspired Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, this is a win win for players.
NGR is a master piece in animation, visuals and music. Bosses are hard enough and fun, and there are good additions to the story. But unfortunately, the levels are pretty boring, game mechanic is based on few different enemies mechanics and after several levels, you get bored. It the same all over and over from the very first level. The gameplay feels a lot as old SNES games but with very good sprites. I cant understand how people can give this game a 10 beyond visuals which of course it is a 10. Only motivation to keep playing is in the nostalgic side.
It can be also a bit easy, so the upgrades to lost life and make it hard can be appreciated through the levels (not in the bosses!).
I dont like the look and feel of the NG 3D games, so this is a very welcome addition to the franchise.

This game is a short ‘meh’. In a time where Silksong is redefining what 2d games can be, this feels painfully tone deaf. The combat is pretty bare bones with little room for self expression. Combat boils down to hitting enemies in the right order and maybe bouncing off one or two in the process. Also, the shop mechanic is so poorly executed. You can see 90% of the pitiful ‘upgrades’ from the start and since the game throws so much currency at you it makes these upgrades feel marginal at best. Not that the game is hard without them. Theres infinite lives and a generous dodge roll so I wouldnt be surprised if you could do all the levels without killing a singlr enemy just by brute forcing from checkpoint to checkpoint. Speaking of which, the design here is very poor. Lots of repetitive sequences and few interesting ideas. All in all this game had all the makings and aesthetics to be a love letter to long time Ninja Gaiden fans but sorely came up dull. Dont expect to be blown away but if youre looking for a cheap game to play over a weekend its not a bad choice. I paid 25usd but would have felt better paying 10.

Играл на пк, все хорошо. RTX 5090 + i7-14700KF = 240 FPS.

Ragebound is a sequel to the old-school Ninja Gaiden game for the NES with minor adjustments in terms of balance.
The NES games were brutally difficult. Sometimes for good reasons and sometimes not.
In this modern iteration, the balance tweaks are great.
Some salty old-school gamers might say the game is easy and you can speedrun the game, but in all honesty, the average and above-average gamers will get fairly challenged in most cases.
Nonetheless, the game offers additional difficulty modifiers if you crave a little more challenge, which is what I did against the non-boss enemies.
Anyway, let's sum up the good, the bad, and the wasted potential. Pros:
- Great OST
- Great characters (Kenji & Kumori have nice chemistry)
- Simple story and straight to the action
- Moveset is quite varied
- Demon enemies are fun
- Bonus levels Cons:
- Human enemies **** & are annoying
- The **** touch get hit thing is dumb AF !! Wasted Potential:
- Why is there no **** 2 player COOP!
- With the BS Touch-hit thing, the game could have been great I know that some enemies don't have an official attack animation, but a f*cking enemy is standing still, and I just so happen to touch his body, that doesn't f*cking mean I should get hit. It's literally the only reason why I refuse to play this on hard.
I am sorry, but when a human woman soldier is standing or crouching, and Kenji accidentally touches a PP, that doesn't **** mean he should "get hit", OKAY! I am just glad I can finally move on to NG4 and not this.
If they continue this 2D action game, please remove this mechanic on enemies that can actually have an attack animation.

The game is awesome, but a little buggy. I had to restart the later levels a few times because the game would be just stuck in some state - the character would not appear after a cutscene, Kumori would not spawn during the last bossfight and the like. Considering the very high difficulty this just **** big time. I had to lower the difficulty after that and the last 3 levels would be just insane without the Accessibility options. Such a shame.

If you remember the rage inducing Ninja Gaiden with the stupid bird, this is what it feels like when you get to the 2nd level. Do not play this game unless you want to be pissed off a lot, even a little misjudgement in platforming means death. It gets worse when you get to level 3-3, a whole bunch of **** and a tentacle chase where you blindly jump to hope to bounce off the tentacle, not sure if the game tester did the hitbox testing right cause it seems a bunch of ****.

It’s not a bad game, just a very basic one, but thankfully it’s short, but I think it could have been more than it is

Good game. The pace of the level is great and combat is smooth but it's very short and overpriced by my opnion.

Perfect arcade style action platformer game. Excellent music, challenging boss fights, secret stages and a secret challenging boss rush final fightin hard mode that will give your skills a run for its money. An absolute must play for not only ninja gaiden fans, but 2d platformer fans as well

Pick up and play for fun easily, the higher difficulty definitely made Ragebound that much better.

Du pure Ninja gaiden Old School. Pas de difficulté écœurante mais un vrai bon chalenge bien dosé. A recommandé a tous les fans de bon rétro

Cool game, really enjoyed it. There are moments where you are just slashing dudes left and right while non-stop moving forward and that feels real good. Some of the boss fights are really fun and tough in a good way. Some of the challenges are fun, but when the levels are fairly long, its annoying to have a challenge you have one shot (sometimes right at the end of the level) to do and you fail it. Even if you wanted to try it again, you'd have to redo the entire stage, I didn't like that. Took around 6 hours to beat, including most of the special levels you can unlock. It's a really solid game, but if we are talking strictly Game Kitchen games, I do prefer Blasphemous. But this is still a really solid game for sure.

The game is short and not as challenging as some of the original titles. Unlimited lives and continues mean that you can just charge forward until you make it to the end of the level. There is no need for choosing the right upgrades, which made the whole mechanic feel redundant.

I really enjoyed the blasphemous games, particularly 2 and i've been a fan of the 3d ninja gaiden games for years so this one caught my eye. I really got into it, the bosses are a lot of fun. A couple were pretty tough towards the end but overall it had a good level of challenge to it and never got too frustrating. I think towards the end the difficulty of some of the levels ramped up a bit too much and I found myself mostly just jumping through levels but all in all I don't really have any complaints. Just a fun video game

Best 2d revival of an iconic retro franchise ever, incredible action game with perfect pacing, gorgeous graphics, tight gameplay and never boring

This is easily one of the best games of 2025 (although there's not much competition). The gameplay is fluid, the music is outstanding, and the challenge is perfectly balanced. The only reason Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound isn't deserving of a 10 is because it's simply too short.

This game is not a masterpiece, but it's a great game. I had so much fun playing this game. I am so freaking hyped for ninja Gaiden 4. I bought this game because I just wanted to play a new ninja Gaiden game so badly. I created a whole new account just to review this game and support it. My only complaint with this game is that it's only 3 hours.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a stelar game. Its fast-faced combat is on point; its platforming and level design is masterfully created. The controls and movement are precise, and the difficulty is well done. The audiovisual design is perfect. All in all, an amazing game.

This game is a fantastic callback to the classic Ninja Gaiden games from the NES era, with the same level of challenge expected from this series. Game Kitchen really cooked in this one.

I’m playing it on the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s my first time playing this saga (and also my first GameKitchen game), and the gameplay feels amazing. I’m mostly playing in handheld mode, and the performance is very decent — stable at its frame rate. I’m not sure if it’s running at 30 fps, but it feels very smooth. As an action game, it’s fantastic — it reminds me of old-school beat ’em ups, and the bosses are so satisfying, with great design. I’ll definitely play more games from this saga, as well as both past and upcoming titles from GameKitchen. A really surprising and very good experience.

Excellent Ninja Gaiden game, it brings back the NES titles in a renewed form! Challenging, fun, with silky-smooth controls, beautiful pixel art accompanied by a delightful soundtrack. Highly recommended!!! Great job by The Game Kitchen, DotEmu, and Koei!!

Really good,my only complaint is that you can't quit the game during the stage or else you'll have to start all over again (even if you reached a checkpoint)

I know all the original NG-Games on NES/famicom inside out and play them since ~30yrs, my opinion on this one is: IT'S NO NINJA GAIDEN GAME AND ALSO A BAD PLATFORMER:
- the levels itself are easy and banal, so the difficulty comes exclusivly from the boss battles
- the focus is in fact solely on the bosses
- the reuse of bosses (three times, wtf!?!)
- the normal enemies are boring and you can in fact just skip them most of the times
- the general game mechanics are not fun, and you don't get in a rythm/flow like in the old games
- the flow is also destroyed by having dialogue sections during levels (keep the cutscenes out of the gameplay!!! and put it between levels!) +artstyle and music are good

I absolutely love the difficulty settings which gave me different experiences every time! It’s fun and challenging while very fair. I will buy the physical edition too next month.

It's a great game with a nice story, beautiful pixel art, awesome fast pacing gameplay, and high replayability. You can customize the difficulty of the game through assist settings that don't punish you by locking achievements nor progression to it, and on top of that, you can experiment with a highly flesh out hard mode that gets unlocked after you beat the game once. This mode remixes the levels adding more enemies, traps, changing the checkpoints, and even altering the boss patterns. But even this mode can be experienced with assist mode settings if you like. Ragebound proves a maturity I hadn't seen before from The Game Kitchen, one that understands providing freedom and enjoyment, over punishment and frustration, above all else, the game asks you to enjoy its experience however you like, and as such, it pays off tenfold without sacrificing its identity.
