New Gundam Breaker continues an unfortunate trend plaguing Gundam to this day. For every good Gundam game we get, we get two that are either bad or lackluster, and NGB falls into the bad category. While customization is top notch, and the only real redeeming quality to this game, the combat and story are some of the worst, undoing the good qualities from Gundam Breaker 3. While there are more Mobile Suits to use, including Mobile Suits from Iron Blooded Orphans, actual combat has been scaled back to a level worse than the first Gundam Breaker game. Plus, this mechanic of swapping parts on the fly was poorly executed. The new game modes don't work. Nobody needed these pointless side modes. Just import the other games rather than play New Gundam Breaker.

New gundam breaker is very disappointing, there is no meaningful story, and the gameplay is very repetitive

NGB is a girl game that runs on yugioh GX rules. It is your standard loop of break parts build things. For what it is, I had a fun time playing it with my wife. only down side it it is now almost impossible to get an online match. But if you can find it used enjoy.

I cant realize how in this god damn world, they could **** a entire franchise with so few steps. Why the **** would you do this?? This game blows, its an absolute failure in everything it tries to do. They ****ed up the battle system, they ****ed up the story mode, the battle modes, the online mode. In gods name, the only thing they could not **** entirely was the gunpla builder, because i know they were on the meeting discussing how to **** up this game more, and the department responsable for ****ing up the building system could not get an idea before the time runs out. And i mean, they not ****ed it up entirely, just a little, because now we cant fuse parts together to buff them, if we get extra parts, we have to sell them for cheap **** which does not help at all in the game. I already mentioned the story mode was switched with a date sym-style game? I really want to kill myself. Overall its a good gunpla builder which came with a ****ty game as bonus.

Just how can you guys f**k this up? I have played Gundam Breaker 2 and Gundam Breaker 3, here I am pre ordered your latest entry of the series and found out this is the worst game in the series, or maybe worst game in my life? This game is so bad please allow me to start with the negatives. Cons: Bad story- Seriously just so bad, the characters and the dialogues, are all lazy writings. Repetitive- All matches feel the same, and you only get a few stages, but they made different story route with minimal differences in conversations but ultimately lead to the same fight with same enemies. All lazy effort to make you "FEEL" like there are so many stages instead of 10. Controls- Boy oh boy, the controls, good luck locating and aiming at your target. This game is all about killing designated targets to get quest points to stay ahead of enemies, sounds easy? Yeeeaaahhh, but do you know that the enemies team are also blend in your quest targets? and hitting your enemies does nothing but wasting your resources? Also the input is so bad I don't even need a professional gamer to tell me that. Im no competitive player and I can tell the input lag is so bad. Gameplay- The most exciting part of Gundam Breaker game is when you got some new parts with new skills, you can't wait to jump into the next match and try it out, With this game? Well good luck with that. All your part skills (Called EX Skills) are locked at the beginning of a match, and you have to grind to level up (Like a moba game) to unlock and in order to use them, and it is completely random which part unlocks first. WOW! You can't even test your new parts immediately, and sometimes when you have really bad luck, you might need to wait a few matches just to test your new parts because you might not get it unlocked before you finish the match! Big applause to the genius who thought of this. Now imagine you have a part which you can select one of the 4 skills it contains, and you wish to test them all, that would take a long time and very frustrating because you have no control over which part unlocks first, and by the time you realize that skill or part is useless, its probably already mid game and you have to endure it to the end. Graphics- It is not bad, game is beautiful and some of the stages are quite fun to look at, but do you know the game freezes 2-3 seconds more than a few times every match? Yes, every match. Skills- For the sake of multiplayer, they nerfed alot of the skills and that's unacceptable for a Gundam Fan like me. Quantum Burst is a self heal skill? Really? Non-homing Funnels? Wow? Atomic Bazooka can't even kill some of the AI units but drained all your gauge. Gundam series has so many unique skills, unique parts and everything is so bland in this game just because they want a balance multiplayer environment. Parts picking- Hahahahaahahahhahahaaa, this is what the programmer was thinking then they design this part. First you have to damage your enemies, and if you are lucky, they dropped some parts and you may able to pick them up, BUT, you only can hold 5 parts max and you have to send them back at a specific location which generated randomly. If you are lucky, you may be able to spot the part you want, and if you are lucky there are no enemies around to back stab, shoot lasers, stuns, disable you, you may be able to walk there and pick it up, and if you are even luckier that no one is following you to damage you and cause you to drop the parts during the trip to send the parts, and then when you are sending the parts at the location, nobody is there to disturb you, then voila! You will receive the parts after you finish the match! This is a complete chore! and only 5 parts at a time! Pros: It has Gundams for Gundam fans, nothing more. I can't praise this game, I really cannot. The technical issues, the unpolished implementation, the ridiculous gameplay, everything is so bad.

The game is really disapointing, gundam breaker 2 and 3 han good stories and exelent control and weapons usage, now if you put builder part weapons they are merely cosmetic, you cannot use all weapons at all times redering the game in a really poor dinasty warriors like game. Another very bad point is the terrible framerate and the game simply getting stuck in a frame various seconds, also the missions are all the same, hence the whole game resumes to a single 10 minute long mission repented 60 times in 8 different scenarios with different enemies. My advice is to buy Gundam breaker 3 or 2 and skip this crap

First, I haven't played any prior Gundam Breaker game, so this is my introduction to the series. The game is okay and I love building and painting my own Gundam, however, there are also several issues that are keeping me from enjoying the game as much as I feel I could be. The largest of which are the actual battling mechanics and how the fights generally play out. It bothers me quite a bit that I essentially have to spend an average of 1/3rd of every stage boosting around collecting boxes just to unlock the abilities I've chosen for my Gundam. It's not enjoyable to do this. Then, frequently, I find myself getting stun-locked by what feels like a dozen Neutral Forces focusing on me, or the entire opposing team (this is the AI, I have not tried multiplayer). I'm also not a fan of how easily the parts seem to fly off my Gundam during a match. This wouldn't be as big of an issue to me if it was easier to tell what parts laying around were mine and which were parts from opponents. This has all led me to look up Gundam Breaker 3 since I see a lot of praise for that entry and because I'd never heard of the series prior to NGB. I've since ordered GB3 and am waiting for its arrival, though I do hope they're able to patch NGB into a state I'll enjoy later. I feel like there's a good game in here somewhere, but I think they made some odd choices in the design that have made it hard to find.

NOT. GOOD. Bamco decidedly switched development teams of this game for unknown reasons. What we got? A customization system that is a pale shadow of the initial 3 games. Your ability to make that dream mech? It's dead. -Game runs like hot garbage. (It's UNREAL ENGINE, HOW DO YOU MESS THAT UP?) -Game modes have all been replaced by 3v3 -Game no longer has bounty mode -Game no longer has co-op -Part Skills have been removed. The only reason to equip any part is for their locked EX skills. -Option Abilities/Weapons have been removed, Breaker Parts are now just decorative and nonfunctional aside from minute passive buffs. THIS IS THE BIGGEST CRIME. -EX skills, which were once fully customizable are now locked to body parts which are locked behind an in-battle unlock system -Dash Canceling, air dashing, manual aim, etc are ALL GONE. If you are even one inch off the ground, dashing will animation-lock you into place. Combat Pacing is a JOKE. -Red-lock. Any time you knock down an enemy, they are now invuln, player has to wait for stupid AI to get up before continuing combat. Combat is not only slower, but now ever more tedious. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Due to stat/skill changes, combat is extremely clunky and slow paced. Don't be fooled by high score voters in here, customization is a joke compared to what this series was once all about. It's a piss-poor attempt by a new team who are 120% out of touch with what made people fall in love with the series. Will patching fix it? In a technical sense, Yes. They might make it not run like rubbish. In a gameplay sense? No. The core pillars of the game are flawed. They'd have to start over. 1/10 Because I can't give Gundam a 0, I love the franchise too much.

Warning!! This is not Gundam Breaker Game. It is action game with stupid mechanic that use cosmetic gunpla as character. The biggest issues of this game is frame rate and short lag, that make the game unable to play. If you want good action gundam game with great customization, pick the Gundam Breaker 3 Break Edition instead. It was fun and way more enjoy than this. One last thing, I have a word for Bandai Namco Game. "You must fire the producer and staff who make this game and completely ruined this series." Please, don't attempt to change the good core game again.

FPS aside this game is a giant disappointment. I loved gundam breaker 3 and although this is it's own game it's a mess just looking at it as its own standalone. First off the game stutters, changing between menus there is a lag where you can't do anything. That however is a minor issue compared to game play. Game play: -Auto targeting imo is sloppy and hard to choose your target. -For ranged aiming there is no aim with sights option like last game and your left to try aim at enemies directly in front of you with a view directly behind you(your gundam is not transparent). - Parts are dumbed down and there is no random values at all anymore or upgrades. -Dashing is no longer really dashing and there is no way to dodge anymore and stagger from being hit is awful which makes melee hard/impossible since even trash mobs cam stagger lock you. -mission objective extremely confusing. You get points based on objective and mission rating is how many stars you get before completing. Sometimes its ideal to ignore main mission so you can do side objectives but you'll have [main] destroy 4 target enemies [3*] destroy 4 target enemies. there is no option to pull up objectives and elaborate Overall i was excited that the game was being brought over locally without having to get the English version imported through online vendors but this has been a huge letdown. Issues are beyond a mere patch to fix and i'm now worried about the gundam breaker series as a whole. One plus side is since they named it "New gundam breaker" they can still release "Gundam breaker 4" and we can pretend this abomination never existed.

This game is miserable, not only by the standards set by the Gundam Breaker series but by the standards of all action games. It's performance is unbelievably awful. It stutters and freezes constantly during gameplay while achieving framerates upwards of 10-15 whole frames of animation per second. Worse still, it is almost as pathetic during simple menu navigation. Actually playing the game involves nothing so much as stumbling jerkily around overly large and empty environments, slapping enemies with all the force and impact of a feather duster and constantly getting bounced back and forth by the dozens and dozens of enemies that spawn instantaneously and out of thin air between you and any goal. Supposing you suffer through a mission to completion you'll find yourself either in the "story" mode or at the main menu. The story is the blandest most uninteresting anime highschool fanfiction you could ever conceive. It's not worth reading in the least but even if you did want to read it you can't. All the text in this mode is shown as while text on white textbox with a striped translucent background. You wont be able to read anything let alone recognise the letters. What's left, and the monly notable thing about this game, is the mobile suit designer. It's on par with Gundam Breaker 3. Not significantly better or significantly worse. There are changes to the combat which impact the design, like abilities assigned to parts now rather than selected directly and "frames" determining baseline stats and some other nonsense you'll be too frustrated to notice, but they're minimal. What IS new however is the way the game actively disincentivises designing, investing and becoming in any way attached to your creations. You see, not only will your parts be knocked off during combat, of the pieces you recover from destoyed enemies(or your own robot) only a handfull with be accessible to reattach during combat at any time. Once you return from a mission your mobile suit will be a hodgepodge of pieces you started with and random pieces you scrounged as the combat wore on. And that is by design! See, none of the pieces level up or improve in any way so the game WANTS you to regularly discard whatever you have and replace it with the random crap you find on the floor. And if you assumed there would be some in-game store where you could purchase optional parts or new kits and completed designs you're wrong. There is nothing but what you find and actively pick up yourself and it's all garbage to be replaced immediately afterwards. This game is pathetic. I looks nice very occasionally when nothing onscreen is moving and you could conceivably make something cool looking and if it had only been free a virtual robot designer which let you save screenshots it might've been a decent way to kill time on your lunch break but this is awful. Just awful.

*What this game is all about* - The story part: Basically reading through different scenarios featuring different heroines. - The combat part: To advance the scenarios you (your "toy robot") and your partners are placed in a huge arena. Completing given missions in a given time to win the battles. - The customization part: During your battles you will be able to pick up parts to assemble your GUNPLA ("toy robot"). Parts, colors, decals etc. - The online game play: The is no co-op in this game. Online play matches you with 2 other random guys or your friends to compete with 3 other random players to see who can win most missions in one battle. *The Pros* - Very nice graphic, neat music. - Building your own GUNPLA, posing them and taking pictures of them kills a lot of spare time. *The Cons* - The combat system is a huge flaw. Game would suddenly freezes for a few seconds during battles. Movements are clunky, overall user experience is very uncomfortable. - The game rule is hard to understand without multiple tries, worse, chaotic. *Conclusion* At this stage, the game is below average of even some good Indie Games out there which are either cheap in price or totally Free to play. Unless you really want a new Gundam game right now, don't hesitate to skip this because you will probably end up hating yourself for not listening to our advice. Check out the game play vids on the web before you click the "Buy On **** :)" button,

This game is a different series from the other 3 gundam breakers and should not be compared to the other games. There are some frame rate issues and some lag but the game is extremely fun if you like mech games or gundam games

Not terrible, but needs a lot of polish. Pros: - First and foremost, the customization. Being able to build your very own gundam looks and feels as it should modelling wise. With a decent selection to start from, you can generally build a really good and unique looking Gunpla pretty easily - Combat generally feels very fast paced, and with the right set up, combat can feel generally fluid - Stages, though few, are each very unique. Each one offers multiple levels and "lanes" to progress through to various objectives that players have over the course of a match. Cons: - The game is still very, very buggy, with overhauls desperately needed to fix game stalling during matches. - The story is, very bland at best. The individual stories of 6 possible "unlockable" allies are very nearly carbon copies of each other and do not, apart from unlocking (questionably useable) Builder parts, offer almost no replayability. To put it best, there is almost no reason to play past one of the girls. - The AI basically does its own thing, it doesn't support players at all in single player, as far as allies are concerned, while enemy AI (the named NPCs) seem to actively hunt the player. Given this situation, and the fact that almost all named NPCs you are against have some form of explosive weapon, it is very common to be ambushed, and then juggled to death with little that you can do, and no support even remotely offered, save for the occasional attacks from green enemies. Synopsis: The game seems made and tailored around the setup for a MOBA, as to what looked to be a more typical action 'beat'em up' style game the previous breaker games were styled as. While not inherently a problem unto itself, you should probably not get this game if MOBAs are not your cup of tea. Missions during the match are generally varied. Though mission prompts do little to help in the way of letting players know which mission is which (all kill quests for example, tell you to kill a certain amount of targets, but then do not actually say which targets you need to kill). Given that it is a MOBA style game, leveling in mission allows players use of their EX actions, however, the points at which you gain EX actions is random, and depending on your set up, you could potentially go an entire match without getting any useful abilities at all. As stated in the "Cons" section of the game, the story is bland, almost to the point of non existence. rank rewards for all the story sections give builder parts, with which to further customize player gunpla, but, given that they give marginal stat upgrades, at the cost of another stat being diminished, it is almost worthless to actually use them. Arguably, the only reason to go through the different story arcs is to get "S" rank in them for trophy hunting, and that's it. The game is decently fun, when it isn't glitching, but, named NPCs are a legitimate troll to the players. It does hold promise, but it needs a lot of work before I can say it is a game I would keep in my library. Hold off on buying for now, let it get a few updates into it, and it should be better in a month or two. If you really must get it, it's not a bad game by any stretch, just don't be expecting a lot from it.

Not nearly as bad as all the low scoring reviews have said. Yes it could be a bit more stable but the game is fun, there are tons of Gunpla to build and smash together and the gameplay is still great even if it had changed since Gundam Breaker 3. Don't get me wrong, this definitely isn't the Gundam Breaker 4 everybody wanted but it's still a pretty good game and clearly the calling it New Gundam Breaker instead of Gundam Breaker 4 was a distinction worth making, this is a change for the series and by no means a sequel.

1. This is not gundam breaker 4 you are hoping for. 2.NPCs actually do something in the game unlike gundam breaker 3 where they were present but pointless. 3.Everyone keeps saying fights are 3 v 3 which is true but there are roaming goals and small fry. **** camera and locking on needs to fixed as currently its better to have it turned off. **** is true that you cannot level up pieces but I can confirm that pieces have moves related to that part. 6. The game needs alot of work before its worthy of succeeding past titles. 7. I hope we can make enough noise to get this game fixed but I will not score it less than 5 as it is playable, looks pretty and after patch 1 its alot more stable.

This is by far the most disappointing Gundam game ever made. Pros: The addition of Frame types to change base stats and a few abilities. Graphics are on par with Gundam Breaker 3 Cons: The game runs poorly both in the menus and during game play. Input lag in the menus is akin to loading large sections of maps and assets for open world games. Movement during game play feels slow and unwieldy. Parts must be banked for every 5 collected during battle to "earn" parts after the mission. No difficulty options. Mission quests are sporadic and often timed poorly. Exceptionally boring story line. If you are looking for a Gundam Breaker title for the PS4 save your money and buy a copy of Gundam Breaker 3. New Gundam Breaker is all the bad elements **** game rolled into one with the addition of poor performance (even on the PS4 Pro) with a dash of Gunpla customization improvements thrown in and many basics removed. There are no longer progressive difficulties for game play (standard hardcore extreme newtype) or part levels and rarities. The game play is terrible. Between enemies spawning randomly around you and locking you down unable to move or even fight, confusing and sporadic quests, and an atrocious movement system this game is incredibly boring. Gone are the missions where you zip around the map destroying enemies and clearing areas, you now are pairs with an acceptable at best team trying to complete quests for rankings with main quests often being accomplished shortly after they appear by your team while you struggle to complete side quests before they finish the main essentially stopping your attempts to get "S" rankings. Gone are the milestones of hitting certain ACE point totals before certain points or times to spawn special sets of enemies with coveted rare parts. The story line focuses on you freeing a high school designed to teach students nothing but Gunpla battle and building from the student council who think only they should be allowed to build and battle. It isn't the best story but it could have been far better just by having some variety instead of pure anime archetypes with no real personalities past cliche anime type acts like cliche anime type. The story screens are slow moving, poorly written, poorly implemented (press cross every time a character finishes a line even if its four screens straight of "..., uh-um, oh!, or ahh!") and occasional "dialogue choices" with no impact. The building and customizing of Gunpla no longer feels rewarding or even interesting, it is now boiled down to pick a stat to be higher, match it with an ex action, and color the part. There is no more leveling parts to improve passives and truly customize both the look and play style you want. Even if you are a huge Gundam fan don't buy this game unless you simply must have it for game collection purposes or it drops to below $10.

Normally I don't post these sort of things and let people find out for themselves, but DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT buy the new Gundam breaker game below is a list of just hard facts no opinion that just makes this game not worthy of money 1. Build parts no longer do anything 2. You cannot upgrade your mobile suit, parts are purely cosmetic 3. you have 7 side weapons/functions, they are bound to a single slot, so if a leg has 3 skills you have to pick 1 4. there are currently only 128 suits in the game 5. the game freezes for split seconds mid combat which breaks immersion 6. the story line (all 3) combined took 5 hours to complete 7. every mission is the exact same 8, your suit always feels flimsy 9. there are 2 cutscenes for the story in which you get to see your own suit that is all. 10. The game tries to say there are 3 story paths - they are all identical bar some dialogue that is all.

Horrid. Absolutely horrid. This game makes Gundam Breaker 1 a fricking godsend! It runs poorly, with frequent freezes in mid gameplay, took out mapping skills to controls, some combat controls are made by a 3 year old and overall, its a full-on insult to Gundam Breaker and fans. I know its not made by the same developer as previous titles, but come on, if you're gonna make a gundam kitbash game, the least you could've done is play previous titles and understand what make a Gundam Breaker game fun. Taking customizing options out of a kitbash game. The heck are they thinking...

The most saddest and worst gundam breaker of the series We play collect the parts level up to unlock the ex move and then what ? it was reset Good job bandai for ruining the Breaker series The only good about this is the visual novel but buying a $70 Visual novel games nah i passed Gundam breaker 3 is still the best one

This game is a complete and utter train-wreck. Confusing gameplay, confusing mission objectives, absolutely absurd and unnecessary anime story sequences. The controls are barely responsive and on-screen button prompts don't match changes made to the control scheme. The frame-rate is atrocious at times and the game lags when too much is going on. There are ridiculous difficulty curves and spikes that make the game virtually unplayable at times. I could go on, this game is just simply as bad as it gets

This is te worst Gundam Breaker i played, im a great fan with a lot of hours played in previous tittles. This game only have 3 VS 3 Style of play. Don´t have missions like previous tittles. Unnecessary NPC on the stage, only complicates the mission and are the PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE, seriously? Have a lot of freezes on gameplay , the time is running but you can´t move. Don´t buy this game if you are a fan of the series and previous games.

The game runs terribly, as I tested it on both my own PS4 Slim console (only 6 months old) and a good friend's PS4 Pro. If you're expecting to have the old style of missions involving stages, boss battles, etc. you're going to be very disappointed. Almost every mission is in 3v3 battle format, and there are no missions in the old style of missions that i've found. Suits are inordinately expensive to purchase, with the gains in GP (in game currency) being pitiful pocket change at best. The only thing saving this from a 1.0 review is that the suit selection is interesting, and the gameplay does hold some promise, provided they overhaul it with a patch and bring things back to the way they used to be.
