New Gundam Breaker is a love letter to Gundam fandom to the point where the devs can’t imagine that anyone playing wouldn’t know the mechs inside and out. In light of this, the real testament to New Gundam Breaker’s success is the fact that its obvious passion for its subject made me want to learn.

A musou-like action game, a bit repetitive and easy. Perfect just for the fans of Gundam and gunplay models.

A clear step backwards compared to its predecessor.

The Gundam Breaker series finally hit the West, but it couldn't have done it in a worse way. New Gundam Breaker is not a bad game at all, but the many issues, such as low mission variety, performance issue, and mediocre story mode, outweigh its best features, mainly the huge amount of Gunpla models and the vast customization possibilities that come with it.

There are some really good things in New Gundam Breaker, but others are terribly wrong. We would recommend playing one of the other far superior Gundam games.

Once this game actually runs how its supposed to, New Gundam Breaker could be a pretty decent time.

I still can have fun when creating my own Gundam model, but the combat part of this game is awful. I can't stand the low frame rates and coarse details, and the number of Gundam models are not satisfying me at all.

New Gundam Breaker definitely has some great nuanced aspects to its core concept of mix-and-match mech model making, but what it needed was more variety to spice up the gameplay. While last year’s Gundam Vs was nothing mind-blowing it was a much more solid and mixed combat experience.

New Gundam Breaker had the elements to be a good game, but the technical and game design flaws drastically ruin all of its potential.

New Gundam Breaker does little to continue the good faith the past few Gundam games have worked so hard to garner. It’s a charming game at times, and its characters are refreshingly simple. That’s not enough to save it from itself, though, and the gameplay is well below what a game based entirely on building and piloting a Gundam should be.
