THIS GAME ****! very first race, very hard to win to advance. Took me like 8 tries. mabye there are shortcuts? But staying on the track and running a 3:10 with the Camaro over and over (and thats a near perfect lap) cant even get 3 rd place in the second race. The races are long and the 3 rd place mustang in the second race protects the leader so you cant win. I cant upgrade my car, cant buy a new car, cant progress past the second race. I rage quit and deleted it. F this game. But then again, any game made by EA ill pass on becasue of all the extra hoops you have to go thru to play on thier account, their server, licences and all that other crap. No thanks.

Best Nintendo driving game by far. It looks bad and you might avoid it because of its low price but this runs well on even on a regular old switch.

This "Hot Pursuit" remaster runs at 60 FPS (on PS4 Pro/Xbox One X) and includes all DLC. It also features a new garage feature, a photo mode, color customization and supports crossplay. The game looks great and is still a lot of fun despite being 10 years old. Single player includes both racing and cop car challenges. And the online competitive modes are all about racers attempting to outrun cops. Overall, I'd rate this with an 8 out of 10.

just one of the best current NfS games. The thrill of racing against cops with lobbies full of real players is just intense.

Ottimo gioco, grafica molto realistica. Unica pecca è che ci sono poche auto e poche opzioni di modifica per le auto

We don't need a bad remastered version of this old lousy game. Very bad idea and realization is worst than the old one

84% good. The game encourages you to at least have a bronze medal or higher to unlockmore levels and viechle. The cops mode where you drive a police car requiresyou to damage enough of the speedy drivers to earn a gold metal. What I like about the game is how challenging the mode is where you race while avoiding cop cars and you have to use spike traps and EMPS to defend and attack your opponent drivers and cops. I like how the game also challenges ou by giving yourself a car with bad drifting on this one level. My only complaint with the game is that it would be better if the game only required a gold medal for proceeding the next levels orunlocking veichles.

Gameplay is a complete abomination. The cars respond with a lag and it all feels like driving a piece of crap on ice. And this **** my goodness! Like EA forgot how to implement decent drifting mechanics so they just... allow you to ENTER a drift mode after pushing a certain button!!!?!??. It means this game has no physics whatsoever! All just mirrors and smoke!. And these mechanics are being repeated since years. I do not recommend. I hate games being made like that. It'sa disgrace to all gaming industry. I hope people responsible for that will have difficulties finding job and thus change their profession.

Honestly, I've grown to like this game after getting used to it's flaws although those frustrating moments are tough. Pros: graphics, sense of speed, action, uniqueness, innovative Cons: no options menu whatsoever sans display and controller button layout, frustrating driving physics (gets better with experience), no prize for all gold medals at the end wtf, some races are simply unfair like you're in 1st by a mile and 3 cops suddenly gang **** you in the sludge dungeon unmercifully until hot brown rain comes out.

If you can't drift the cars, you'll hate this game. If you didn't play old school Burnout back in the day which always emphasized taping the handbrake or brakes to drift, you'll be lost. YET I love this game. This is a very good remaster of a now decade old game. Solid 60fps, all the DLC included, and working multiplayer servers that are reliable and did not crash once on me with all my friends playing. We had a great time! It's good ol' cops and robbers with a little bit of weapon mayhem.

Manche Rennen muss man zu oft wiederholen, dadurch verliert man schnell die Lust am spielen. Schade das man immer vorher bezahlen muss.

Despite the title, this game doesn't feel anything like the original NFS III: Hot Pursuit (1998) or NFS: Hot Pursuit II (2002), some of the best games in the series. Still, it's one of the most fun NFS games from its generation, and one with considerable influence from Burnout (a series in which Criterion also is known for), perceptible in this game's frequent requirement of you driving on the oncoming lane or get near misses to refill your nitrous (necessary to win most races), that, rather than a one time use can, acts like a stream. This insistence limits your experimentation with cars and handling in events as refilling nitrous is critical for victory in races, and also survival, in hot pursuits. I haven't played the original on PS3 or Xbox 360 when it came out, but in this remaster every car feel very heavy, and the gravity is unforgiving, at times pulling you towards other vehicles, what gives a sense of challenge in every track, whether you're a racer or a cop, but also a frustrating time if you don't get the handling, and it doesn't really take you by the hand to show how it works. This game also falls into a long standing predictability of the series, in which some cars in certain ranks have better acceleration or handling than others in the same rank, sometimes much better, and, if it's not that predictable at first, observing a few races against the same opponents will teach you soon which car is better for each situation. That hasn't however prevented me from trying out all cars, even those out of favour in their own category. The map is beautiful and interesting albeit arguably not very lively, and it's practically all countryside and no city, only loosely inspired by certain tracks of the aforementioned Hot Pursuits for PS1 and PS2. This game has no "real" open world since in the open world you can't access events or do anything - you reach those in a map, what's handy, though the game limits which cars are available for each events, and that add repetitiveness and it's kinda frustrating that some cars are available in only a handful events in the beginning, as you're discouraged to put them to their limits later. Still, this game requires some reasonable amount of grinding if you want to get all cars, but nothing close to later titles of the series. The cop career is perhaps one of the game's highlights (and something sorely missed in later titles) despite the hardest events I found in the game are the cop rapid responses (time trials) in which you're penalized for hitting traffic or elements in the road. There's no customization of car parts, what's good (for once, the cars come up fully upgraded when you buy them, and no need to grind points to buy a lot of extra parts to "fix" them), and on the visual aspect you can still add stickers / decals and change colors & finishing, what's enough. The car roster is considerably big, including iconic cars such as the Porsche 959, the Mclaren F1, the Lamborghinis Diablo and Murcielago, plus hyper cars from the time such as the Koenigsegg Agera and Pagani Zonda, though missing a few cars from the original release such as the Mercedes Stirling Moss, what's a shame. But the game really dictates which cars you can use for each events and some are available for only a few, what is just frustrating. It also dictates which weapons you have available as cop or racer in Hot Pursuit events (you can't choose or equip others than those the event puts by default), though that's understandable, and mostly manageable. The opponent racers' "rubber band" (the ability of catching up with you especially close to the end of an event, no matter how many miles far ahead you've put yourself throughout the race) feels very forced here, though in the whole series it's common so there's no running from it. Or from the cops' recklessness. There's no story in this game, what's also a good thing since the story in every NFS is ridiculous and detrimental to the racing experience. Occasionally fun and always challenging, this game is not close to the fun of the earlier titles, though arguably a breath of fresh air into a series that was losing its way, and, one way or another, became a classic in its own right, if not by merit, by time. But in no way a proper "homage" to the games it's named after. Played for hundreds of hours on PS4 Pro.

Good graphics good gameplay good event variety decent physics and terrible traffic like they put the cars in just not good places and most of the time they screw you over you could be coming out of a drifting section and your Trying to stabilize your car then another car was just right in front of you and you try to swerve or u couldn’t just react Bad ai the racers ai when you play as a cop is very wicked they try everything to stop you and they even slow down just to try and hit you with the emp and they are sometimes aggressive it’s just unbalanced even the cops ai for when your a racer they sometimes act wicked random difficulty spikes like when your just starting to play racing games like I do I got so frustrated with these events mainly because they are unbalanced and unfair like the racers ai will just spam spike strips every single time this makes playing as a cop more miserable than being a racer any way this game can be fun but most of the time you would be frustrated and angry I don’t recommend when you just started to play racing games the game just goes against what video games are made for they are supposed to be fun and sometimes challenging in a good way

Nice cover, crap content. A truly beautiful game, a good soundtrack, a good fleet of vehicles, although outdated, the spirit of nfs, but everything is spoiled by a terrible imbalance, with crooked physics where the car is chattering all over the road, unrealistically evil rivals, because of which the difficulty increases to very high, you have to replay many races several times. This ruins the entire experience of the game. A simple choice of difficulty could solve this problem. I can't recommend this game.

One of first NFS remasters. Graphics are good but rubber banding... Is from another level.

Upon my initial impression, the graphics left something to be desired. It feels as though the game was merely transferred to the new consoles without harnessing the potential of the upgraded hardware. However, if you find yourself without other gaming options, there's still some fun to be had with this title.

This game instead of being called "Hot Pursuit Remastered" should be called "Hot Pursuit for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch" because there is nothing remastered about it, rather they took away more things, if you have a PC I do not recommend this game at all , play the one from 2010, you will save a lot of space on your disk...

'Need For Speed Hot Garbage Sh**master' That's how to perfectly describe this game. Car handling is very poor and unresponsive, every input has 0.5-1 second delay and it rely on luck rather that skill. The game appears to have been created by someone who knows nothing about cars and has never driven one. Rubber band A.I. is probably the most ridiculous I've ever seen in any racing game. Some glitches and bugs from original are still present in the remaster version.

The closest thing you could come to a James Bond racing game in 2022. The 60fps on PS5 is a huge leap forward for the NFS on console, improving the overall driving experience. The cars look beautiful, both reflection and lightning. Even though the "free-drive mode" is pretty boring with not much to do other than drive around on your own, there is tons of great Career missions with Hollywood-action-like races and huge crash scenes. Using EMP or Spike traps, for instance, to sabotage for your competitors or the police adds to the "James Bondish" action. The physics of the car crashes are particularly impressive compared to modern racing games or even racing simulators such as WRC. While the game starts slow and may feel a bit repetitive at first, I soon find myself going faster and faster with new cars in more and more challenging mission. And last but not least – the music is great too with nice songs to accompany you through the various landscapes. Overall, one of my favorite racing games as of 2022.

This review is for the PC version downloaded from the EA app from the perspective of someone who never played the game. No wheel detected. No way to assign controls to manually force my Logitech G923 to work. Uninstalled. How does a racing game exist, simulation or not, and have no support for wheels and pedals? It isn't 1998 anymore.

Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions. (7) Average. The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before. I've never tried the original Hot Pursuit so this was a completely new experience to me. The first thing I noticed was the graphics, expected the graphics to be better. Gameplay was fun but the car physics needs some work. I really liked NFS Rivals which pretty much did the same concept but is a newer version of the game. Rivals has better graphics, car physics, and same gameplay. I recommend playing Rivals instead of this remaster that is still out dated and failed to modernize the originally Hot Pursuit. I didn't play the original but it feels like they just ported it to the new consoles without updating the game to take advantage of the newer hardware. Normally I would redact a point for bad business practice for something like that but since I never actually played the original, so I can't do that in good faith. I can still have fun with this game and so can you if you got nothing else to play.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a really good racing game with great graphics and gameplay. The only flaw is that there is no opportunity to tune your car like in Need for Speed Underground 2

Easily the best driving game on Nintendo switch that is offline. Yes, loading screens can Be long, but it's made up for with the Epic music tracks, stunning graphics and fast fun. Police are pretty good and responsive, if you have the skills you can pretty much outrun them. Car customisation is a lot of fun, being a big fan of cars I spent hours in the custom wrap section, editing my cars to perfection. Hyper series is really fun to drive, but hard to control sometimes. My only regret is that there isn't enough traffic in free play, it's already a massive amount of fun to just drive around and follow other cars. Racing performs well, Online is too, amazing. Everything about this game charms me and I'd love to see another port of a NFS game as well.

The game has very good graphics but the problem is with the gameplay it really **** u can't pass a corner without drifting and there are tons of rapid responses (time trials in cop career) which aren't funny and annoying because if u hit a trafic u get +3 and hitting a wall or the side of the road +2 and it's already soo hard to beat without the penalties it's such a shame for that good game. Thanks for reading !

This review is not only a comparison between the original and remastered version of the game, but also a review of the game itself as a alone published game on which my final user score will be based on. After 10 years Criterion launches a remastered version of one of the best Criterion games made so far. This title is practically a sequel of the well-known NFS Hot Pursuit 2 released back in 2002, even though it differs in some parts. The game itself is a racing arcade, as all Need for Speed games are, you play both as a racer and a cop in already designated events, this is where the first difference from the 2002 title comes in. In NFS HP2 you had the chance to decide which car to use, which track to drive onto (and you still got the chance to get bounty points), on the top of that, you also had offline splitscreen mode available if you wanted to play with someone from your family or friends. None of this appears here, you have events on which you have to use a specific car or car class in a specific part of the map. What is more, you have the Free Roam mode in which the only thing you can do is just drive, no racers or cops appear within the map, so practically a useless mode. Ok, now after saying what wrong with the game, what are the good things? Well, of course the gameplay, you are gonna have such a great time playing this game, there are many race modes, like Hot Pursuit (of course), Interceptor, Race, Time Trial,... and the best of them are playable in online mode with other people who are gonna give you a hard time beating them, but you are probably gonna enjoy it more than playing singleplayer mode. With the DLCs comes new cars and singleplayer events and a completely new online mode called Most Wanted in which there is a player who has the most bounty points (he's the most wanted), racer's objective is to protect him from being caught by the cops and the cops have to bust him before he escapes. Now the difference between the original and the remastered version is that all DLCs are already in the game, given for free. Also 4K support but 30fps, and 2K 60 fps, graphics improved, but not drastically, which is a big flaw for all pc players as mods can render the game even better than remastered without buying the new version. So for whom is the Remastered version? Well, for new players who haven't experienced the game is a must buy, but for others, well it depends on if you want to spend many hours on online mode, than probably yes as there is crossplay enabled and you can play the game with friends on different platforms. For people who already played the game (especially for pc players) and played it only for the singleplayer experience, than don't buy it, it isn't worth your money. All in all a great game, one of the best from the Need for Speed franchise, the game itself is a must buy for all racing arcade fans, but when it comes to the Remastered version, than it isn't for everyone, for new players yes, but for others it depends.

I think this game is for people who like arcade racing and doesn't care for any physics. The game is good but there isn't anything done for the remaster(no updated graphics no new game modes) except for new liveries not much customizable.

In my opinion this is the best Need For Speed ever made. I can feel the nostalgia from Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2). I can't give it less than a 10, this game is perfect.

This remaster is pure garbage. Extremely overpriced, artificial slowed with **** made 30 FPS lock, broken AI catch-up, **** leaderboards that made you permanently rage. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF **** UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

This game is a joke and terrible. The AI is overly aggressive and literally cheats. The RNG of the placement of traffic and road blocks is completely terrible, as the game puts them in the perfect place to ensure you will wreck. They should remove this game from all platforms and count it as a complete failure.

Controls are horrible, you never feel like you have full control of the car... The skill does not come from mastering the speed and having fast reaction time. No, the skill comes from just dealing with the horrible controls. I consider myself as a big fan of racing simulations (like grand tourismo) or arcade racers (like the burnout series). Because of the latter, I was in good hopes when I saw the developers are the same studio. But it is a disappointment, even GTA has better driving machanics and its not even their core gameplay... It's not a bad game, but it's also far from good.

Nothing pisses me off more than a fantastic game destroyed with several, easily fixable, fatal flaws. A.I. got worse, catchup is beyond stupid driving skill means NOTHING in this version. I blame forced diversity. Women don't like racing games why would they give a **** at a job they don't want???

As others have written, it is the same game. If you hated the original, you will hate this. If you loved the original, you will love this. Same mechanics, same bugs, minor visual enhancements, DLC included and thats as far as its goes. I believe the dev team could have improved the drifting mechanics even the slightest, as the cars feel chonky and unable to properly steer on occasion, sometimes sticking to walls.

Controls are awful cars feel way too stiff some time trails that use a specific car are ridiculous some times seem impossible and cars seem to magnetize towards traffic and barriers this not a remaster its a rip off

I had high hope for the remaster, unfortunately it has fell short. The controls tend to have a delay, The traffic is very buggy, The road blocks are not spaced out correctly and there for cant not be passed effectively, there are a bunch of other bugs and server problems to make me very sad to say this game is something that has fallen flat on its face and I believe the company responsible for the remaster needs to fix alot of problems before it can live up to the 2010 release.
