This is one of the better instalments in the Mega Man series. The levels feel challenging, but are far more fair than it's predecessors. In addition, having two characters to pick from is very nice (personally, I prefer Bass, but both options are fun). It isn't a perfect game, since sometimes it feels like enemies pop out of nowhere to attack you, and the penultimate boss really should have been the final one. In addition to this, while it is reasonable that Ground man and Cold man are too easy, since they are beginner bosses, too many other bosses are trivialized by certain weapons, with Magic Man, Pirate Man and the first phase of King's fight being the main offenders. That being said, there are enough great boss fights to make up for it, and overall, this game is a fun experience. Would recommend.

Screen crunching makes an already difficult game even harder to play. Play the original version instead.

Aside from playing as Bass, Mega Man and Bass misses all the points in what makes Mega Man games so great. The levels are often tedious and annoying, levels are on a strict path, and Mega Man just feels shoehorned in this game. This is probably the worst classic Mega Man game I have played.

The SNES version is great for its level design, music and tight control. However, the GBA port suffered from restricted screen that significantly hindered stage hazard.

Mega Man & Bass is a huge example is why ideas aren't bland only if there used correctly and this game uses it correctly. This game should have a sequel.

Subpar port for an amazing game. Lacks the speed and the image quality of the SNES version. Considering the power of the SNES and the GBA hardware, everyone would expect the GBA version would be better.

Throwing a Spanner in the works. Mega Man and Bass is half fun, and Half Irritating, the fun half is taking out the 8 robot masters, the irritating half is taking out the final castle, which is so cheap, that I very nearly rage-quit. The first level King 1 is ok, nothing too bad, I can beat it, King 2 is a nightmare with 4 boss fights, the first is extremely boring, the second, if you beat it you were lucky, the third is easy, and the fourth is just slightly easier than the second, and the third level is long but still fun. But apart from that the eight robot master levels are really fun, but make sure you prepare for the increased difficulty. Comparing the GBA port to the original Japanese SNES release, do anything you can to play the SNES release, you can't see anything in the GBA port due to the screen being super zoomed in, making for a less fun experience. Use an emulator if you have to, just play the SNES release.

This is a really really good Mega Man game, with spot on music, graphics, level design, replayability, everything is in line with this game. My only gripe is the difficulty, which is a given in Mega Man games, but this is still one of the harder ones. Many great things, like 2 playable characters with branching stories, absolutely amazing music, great graphics, awesome level design, and overly great gameplay, make this one of the best Mega Man experiences you can have. One of the best things as well, is as you play through the game, and replay more levels with more power ups, you collect disks, which unlock a library, which includes art work, bios, creators, likes and dislikes ect. of over 100 Mega Man robots, wether they be allies, or villains, or even Thomas Light and D.R Wily! That was one of my favorite things about this game. This is a port from the game rock man and forte, the japanese release for the super famicom that never made it out here. This is one of, if not the best Mega Man expierience you can have on the GBA.
