Everything about this game is on another level; whether it’s the story or the gameplay physics, it’s all brilliant. In my opinion, the details were the best of that era. You can interact with almost everything in the environment—faucets, TVs, elevators, and doors—it’s all fantastic. The story really pulls you into the atmosphere, especially Max’s relationship with Mona and how his past from the first game still haunts him. The levels are beautifully designed, particularly the building structures and interiors, which is further enhanced by the interactivity I mentioned. I highly, highly recommend that anyone who hasn't played this game gives it a try."

The physics system is a great way to enhance the gameplay, but everything rest given by Remedy and Sam Lake's Max Payne 2 is nothing revolutionary. Personally I didn't like the new distorsion of the story, but still a great story.

Frankly, Max Payne 2 makes me confident that the best is yet to come for gaming, that the awesome narrative and creative capability of this medium has yet to be explored to its fullest extent.

The visuals are excellent, the voice work is superior to what we usually get dealt in the action genre, and I only wish the game was a bit longer. A lot longer actually, but it's more because this kind of game is such a rare find than because that find is relatively meager.

It is no doubt that this game is Remedy's finest piece of work. If you thought Max Payne 1 was great, you haven't seen anything yet. As well as improved bullet time and controls, the game hosts an outstanding story that explores complex themes of romance, crime and revenge. The graphics were outstanding for the time, and while being shorter than the first game, it is truly a masterpiece. 5/5 stars.

It’s a game that fatigues quickly. There’s nothing wrong with the gameplay, per se; it just feels a little bit empty. Try playing through the game without using the bullet time feature, and you’ll see how bland it really is.

Is this the most violent game of all time? Maybe. Its ragdoll physics may not match the flying limbs and broken faces of Soldier of Fortune, but its throwaway approach to life and death is genuinely shocking, leaving a bitter, metallic aftertaste. Если бы не товарищ, который подстёгивал проходить дальше, игра была бы дропнута на первом часу. Резкая смена тона, существование Пэйна не в вакууме и его взаимодействия не только через ствол забрало у меня ощущение, которое давала первая часть. Не оценил ни обновленного героя, ни его одержимость мадамой, ни уровни. Геймплей вроде остался тот же, но без остальных составляющих для меня не работает. P.S. Друг после того, как увидел ещё раз игру и как я ее прошел, поменял мнение и не понял чем она ему так понравилось.
