Lootbound is one of the best indie games of 2026 that excels in every aspect. The combat is tactical and satisfying. The atmosphere and art direction are captivating and represent dark fantasy extremely well. The gameplay loop is rewarding, and progression is well-balanced. The only thing holding it back is its lack of story and narrative support. Every run has a sense of purpose and feels different thanks to the RPG nature. Lootbound easily stands out as one of the best roguelite and turn-based games in recent memory.
